    Remington 572 Question

If you are strictly going to be using open sights and not planning on mounting a scope, I would advise looking for a Remington 121. A much superior firearm in my opinion. I had a 572, had problems with it and traded it in on a 121 made in 1941. The 121 is a sweet shooting .22, the 572 was not...

New dual mode trigger system BATF approved !!

Yes, I was aware of the other thread, but did not really want to delve into the question posed by the OP. I wanted to update my progress on my trigger for those interested. I hope you can keep this thread open, as the title of the other thread does not mention what thread is about, and is more...

New dual mode trigger system BATF approved !!

UPDATE: I am working with Fostech, my patents have been assigned to Fostech, and they are releasing the trigger as the ECHO trigger. It should be hitting the market by mid year. I know it has been a few years, but wanted to update the thread. Here is a link to live fire video of the...

Rem 700 Safety back to Safe position question

No, the rifle has to be cocked to move the safety to the safe position. When the bolt is opened, that cocks the striker and safety can then be placed into safe position.

reliability of safeties in the woods

Tirod, Again, it is the Remington 700 (and seven, 721, 722, etc) trigger that has a design defect, NOT the safety. The safety is a wonderful piece of engineering in my opinion. Quiet, very secure, and in original configuration locks the bolt as a safety should, it can be manipulated without...

reliability of safeties in the woods

Slamfire, Rugers model 77 tang safety is not a sear blocking safety, it is a trigger blocking safety, the least desirable type in my opinion. My favorite safety is on the Remington 700. It is a sear blocking safety, but actually retracts the firing pin and striker rearwards by camming the...

    Winchester mod. 60 smooth bore?

Does it have rifle type sights or a bead on the barrel ? Most smoothbore rimfires I am familiar with have a front bead, not sights.

    Ruger No. 1 single-shot rifles,,,

I have one in .35 Whelen. It is a dandy hunting rifle for close quarters, the lack of a repeating action makes it short and balance well for one hand handling. I killed a bull moose with mine a few years back.

    ar bump fire trigger

I cant make any promises, but am actively working on getting this trigger into production, hopefully not too far into the future: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZfj6n_sN_8 As you can see, it works pretty darn well with a .22 LR upper.

Does anyone hate the Winchester Model 70

I certainly don't hate them, but I don't like them as well as the Remington 700. Well, the older 700s, that is. I have one Model 70 currently, a CRF 30-06, and while it is a nice rifle, I prefer my 700s. The biggest reason is the safety, I much prefer the 700s safety over the Model 70s. I...

SBR if barrel must be first removed to remove silencer?

I would suggest writing the BATF FTB and getting an answer in writing straight from the horses mouth, so to speak. They are generally prompt and helpful in their responses. We could all speculate, but the bottom line is they would have to approve it.

    Savage 99 club...

Thanks, restocking it was one of my winter projects this past year. I have had the rifle for about 15 years, and killed some deer with it. I always wished it was a pistol grip stock, not the biggest fan of straight grip 99s. I bought the stock set off of Ebay, a guy on there sells semi-inlet...

    Savage 99 club...

Here is my 99, it is a 99A series A, restocked with a pistol grip stock and curved lever. I still have the original straight grip stock, straight lever, and forearm so it can be converted back to its original configuration. It is chambered in .308. I worked the trigger down to a very crisp 2...

Ammo Used By Alaskan Officials For Bears

rodwa, I am not sure what you mean by not getting a definitive response. In my first response, post #2, I said that they use Brenneke slugs. The troopers use Remington 870s, with Brenneke slugs, and the last I knew, Federal flight control 00 buckshot. They do not recommend using the buckshot...

Ammo Used By Alaskan Officials For Bears

The State Troopers, which includes Wildlife Troopers, use Rottweil Brenneke 2.75 inch 1 1/8 ounce slugs.
