I presently carry a Ruger SP101 with a DA trigger pull of about 14 pounds. I've developed arthritis in my trigger finger and it's becoming a problem. What 357 Magnum or 38+P revolver has the lowest DA trigger pull? Thank you for your replies.

It has to be small and light enough for ankle carry and reliable. All suggestions appreciated.

I've carried the 2 1/4" in a Mika pocket holster for years and don't find it to be too heavy.

I did a lot of research and read many reviews and went with the Williams FP peep...the reviews were right on the money.

You may want to consider a Williams FP peep sight. The FP greatly improved my accuracy over the factory sighting system. It has micrometer type adjustments for windage and elevation and a locking system to keep it at zero.

Another advantage of the tube fed 60 is that it is exempt under Finestein's proposed semi-automatic gun law, the mag fed 795 is not exempt. Although I don't think her stupid law will pass anyway.

I got a NIB 30-30 336W at Wal-Mart a few years back for about $320. The W has a birch stock instead of walnut which is not an issue with me. Other than the stock, the W is indentical to the other blued 336's.

I always check the loading gate screw before taking the 336 out to use. This is the only major weak point of the 336 design and is a very common problem.

Thanks for all the replies. My main concern was a HUMANE shot. Looks like I'll go for a .308 and a maximum range of 300 yards to be sure I don't just wound the animal.

For the second weekend in a row I stepped out of the thick woods with my Marlin 336 in 30-30 into an open pasture. At least 500 yards away was a 10=point buck, maybe 12-point. He is a smart old boy and I never got close enough for a shot with my 30-30. My questions are for a 400- 500+ yard...

For HD, why would you want a 45-70 or a 44 magnum for that matter? The most popular and effective HD long gun is a 12ga pump shotgun.
