    First Handgun! S&W Mod. 57 - 41mag 6"

He hardly gets out to shoot anymore, so I'm sure he doesn't. His lone other .41 mag probably hasn't been fired in years. When he does get out to the range, he tends to favor rifles and his 3 Gold Cup NMs. Now thy I know how well received nice gun photos are here, Ill try to do a shoot of his...

Lee Challenger Anniversary Kit. What else do I need to get started?

N110 is a powder by VihtaVuori Powders out of Finland. I've seen it praised in reviews for being very similar to 2400, along with being very clean. The chart I found from Speer for their 210gr Green Dot Hollow Point show Velocity as slower than H110 and AA #9, while being faster than Blue Dot...

Thanks for the reply. I plan to pick up Speer's and probably another. Any recommendations, or are they all fairly similar?

Lee Challenger Anniversary Kit. What else do I need to get started?

Thanks a lot for the help Tom! The insight on the tools will help. The first load I'd like to try out after doing some research is N110 powder and Speer 210gr GDHP. I'm going to pick up a pound of Unique as well since it is highly praised for light loads.

    First Handgun! S&W Mod. 57 - 41mag 6"

Thanks all...I realize I'm spoiled to have such a beautiful specimen given to me for my first firearm! I plan to shoot the heck out of it when I have the chance, but 41mag ammo certainly isn't free. On that note, Iggy, I'm going to send you a PM. I've been looking at some info on reloading, and...

    First Handgun! S&W Mod. 57 - 41mag 6"

Hey THR! I'm a new member here, as well as to the gun owner community. I'm 22 and a college student in Indiana. I've always been around guns growing up, as my dad had a collection of 30 or so. I recently got my lifetime carry permit, and my father gave me this model 57 as a gift. I just wanted...
