CCRKBA Hails Washington AG Opinion On Nickels’ Proposed Gun Ban

Bill Collins is very well respected in Olympia and his analysis is spot-on. No word yet from Mayor Nickels...

Help: # of WA concealed pistol licenses outstanding

Send WA DOL an email, use the phrase "pursuant to the public disclosure act ..." and you should get an answer fairly quickly.

    safest place to live??

Anywhere you know and like your neighbors, and where the feeling is mutual. The rest can be taken care of in due time.

    FBI Certified Firearms Instructor

IIRC it is an internal classification and a secondary assignment (there is one at every office of any size since they all have to qualify quarterly). Which means you are going to need to take a trip to Quantico as a student if you want this one. :D

    Neighborhood Watches

You are welcome. I enjoy the privilege of living in the equivalent of a semi-rural area near a very large city. Most of us moved here because we wanted a safe place to raise our kids and with great schools. Admittedly, we are very much a self-selected bunch (it was interesting to me that folks...

    Neighborhood Watches

That is a major factor in where I now live. Titan6 - The neighborhood "map" started life as an .xls file but THR doesn't like them. I've converted it to a word table and "pinched" the columns to get them to fit. Reformat as needed, or paste it back into Excel to work with it as you wish...

    Neighborhood Watches

Last year my island hired an emergency planning coordinator who used a variation on this theme. He encouraged every neighborhood to organize and create a neighborhood preparedness plan. We inventoried our skills (engineers, doctor, ...), assets (generators, tools, etc.), and made a plan for...

"Gun Battle at the White House" by Robert Novak

Having worked for a state Attorney General for a number of years I have little doubt that the US Attorney General gets a copy of every brief being filed at the US S.Ct. far in advance of filing. I cannot imagine this administration not discussing the matter in the White House prior to a filing...

Need a Quality Laptop Bag that allows storage for a pistol

A backpack also provides some spine protection, a factor to consider if you ride a lot.

Recommend a fiction book for me

+1 for "The Road" It's as grim a post-apocalyptic tale as I've ever read. I resisted posting a review since I only recall three firearms in it, but it makes just about everything else out there in that genre read like a fairy tale. You may not "enjoy" it, but you will appreciate it.

Washington State: I love it, but seek legal info

Hey now Will, I resemble that remark! There are at least a couple hundred of us not-so-rural, used-to-be rednecks on BI (sunscreen, it's a good thing, and not just for necks). :D As for our WA & Seattle electeds (a couple of whom are former employers), I concur that nothing will change...

Terrible Twos? What about Tactical Twos?

Buy a pair of the small, relatively cheap muffs that have the headband that can curve around them for storage. They store compactly and fit small heads. My daughter is noise sensitive and I got them for her to wear when I'm working with power tools and she's about. I figure it can't hurt to...
