    CHL/CCW Shooting Test

I took the SC test three years ago, at that time it was 10 rounds from each of these distances: 7 yds, 10 yds, 15 yds, 20 yds, and 25 yds. I know for a fact that I didn't do that. Of course I've had mine since they first started "Shall Issue." I searched the regulations and didn't see...

Has anyone else lost the appeal of hunting a certain species?

Funny that after awhile what others consider quarry is anothers pest. I hunt on a farm that has a depreditation permit. No deer allowed. Take all the antlerless ones you can up to 15. Best to date was 7 in a year. I met another guy the DNR gave a permit to keep 4 for food and leave the others in...

    CHL/CCW Shooting Test

In SC I don't think I shot over 7 - 10 yards. You only have to hit the black silhouette of a B-12 target to score a hit. You can use any caliber you what and it makes no difference in what you can carry. So all you .22 fans can carry .50AE Desert Eagles.

    Ideal load for .38

I'm saving these posts to check them out and compare with my reloading manuals. I don't intend to use +P loads unless I feel the need to punish myself. TNX for thee replies.

Before this I was just going to get a tattoo of a CWP Badge.

North Carolina CCW under the Microscope

I don't think it says one thing or the other to me about the general population or CWP holders and crime. What I see is how the state of NC doesn't suspend their permits. I have no hidden agenda posting this, unless it is to know thy enemy. My interest is that once felonies are committed and...

North Carolina CCW under the Microscope

More than 2,400 permit holders were convicted of felonies or misdemeanors, excluding traffic-related crimes, over the five-year period, The Times found when it compared databases of recent criminal court cases and licensees. While the figure represents a small percentage of those with permits...

North Carolina CCW under the Microscope

This is a three page article. It is short though. Read the entire thing. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/27/us/more-concealed-guns-and-some-are-in-the-wrong-hands.html

Has anyone else lost the appeal of hunting a certain species?

I think an elk hunt would be a fantastic thing to do. Just hunting whitetails here. I think I probably have taken about 14 with only two bucks. Mostly I enjoy the hunt and the meat.

    Ideal load for .38

I appreciate the response. I was going to buy some lead bullets but I wanted to get something to what I had read to keep it real. I don't mind the recoil for what I am shooting. It's not like my 1911s but I think that is to my benefit. I can concentrate on my shooting, not the discomfort.

    Ideal load for .38

TNX for the reply. I believe that is what I read but wasn't sure. I just bought a 442 and like it alot. I've read so much about snubbie recoil but I think it is manageable. I shot a box of cheap ammo but I don't remember the load. Since then I have shot just Federal Low Recoil 110 gr...

    Ideal load for .38

I read somewhere that the .38 special had been designed around a particular load for snubbies. Anyone know anything about that?
