No damage on the face of the barrel. I never actually thoroughly examined the bolt until yesterday so it might or might not have been there since I've owned it. I've shot many rounds through my 870 and havent had a problem, so should this worry me or just get a new bolt?
Little chips on 870 Bolt? (PICS)
I noticed little chips on the inside part of my 870 chrome bolt (inside as in the part of the bolt you dont see). Small chips on it, but gun looks 100%. Shall I be worried anytime soon? Thanks. BTW, its a police model probably from the early 80s.
Sorry, went way over head! I didnt include any information:banghead:
For the Remington 870.
The Action tube that is attached to the action bars. This is the actual pump piece. I know that Remington changed the style the end of the action bar with a notch to accomodate the flextab...
Where to buy older style Action Tube for Remy 870?
Anybody know of a good online source that sells them? Looking for the older styles with no notch on them. Thanks.
Looking at the shell latch inside they are staked in. I took the forend tube and used it in my other 870 and it cycled flawlessly, so it cannot be the forend action slide. I also took out the trigger assembly and compared to the other and I could not see any major points of wear. I guess the...
strange, also sometimes the first round wont even cycle. No dents on the magtube, I put in a new spring as well. the rounds just keep getting caught on that right side ramp stop which barely catches the shell rim preventing it from releasing.
you can see the ramps top catching the shell where it should disengage all the way for the shell to fling out. Odd, this was a police gun and I assume that it should have ran 100% without any problems.
Picked up a 870 Wingmaster Police gun today. Everything looks solid and smooth BUT there is a slight feeding problem. I load up 4 shells and only 1 will properly cycle. The rest will not even eject out of the magazine and onto the feeding latch. I took everything apart and it looks like the...
So that action slide I posted will work? As long as it comes with the updated slide that can fit the two bars it should be good to go. No replacement of the entire bolt?
Acquired an old wingmaster 870 but its missing the action-slide. Is there a difference in any of the slides from the past(older) models compared to current production 870s? thanks.
I am looking at this one here:

Yup, the stock is from an old express. I have the plain non-checkered stock as well finished in the same stain but I thought I do it up a little differently with the checkered stock.
Also the speedfeed stock holds 4 shells total, two on each side.
