    Modern Point Shooting

If that was a man and not a torso defeating that SUL position would be easy. what he is showing isnt retention, its shooting. Retention would be defending against a struggle over the gun. Wether that be a gun grab or actual disarm. From there I think retention position would serve him much...

    Best budget 1911

if by budget you mean "cheapest good deal" then its the Rock Island Armory. if by budget you mean "quality under 1k" I would say Springfield Loaded if by budget you mean "most for your money" I got to go with the Springfield TRP

    Which Colt 1911?

you may not be able to tell, but if you shoot 1911's for a while you will find the trigger on the 80 series is not as nice as without. Pulling up the slack disengages a safety, and it can be felt.

    The .32 ACP

.32 has insufficient pentration, and the guns it is typically chambered for are not of much use outside of conatct distance as far as getting hits on target under stress. youd be better off with a good blade and quality training.

    Feelings on the Magpul B.A.D?

so the answer to too much crap on your carbine is....... more crap on your carbine ??? yeah, I get it now /sarcasm my one real concern with it besides lack of utility and being a solution looking for a problem is what happens if you get something stuck between the lever and the...

    Upgrade ideas

we refer to that as "takeup". I like a little takeup, but where you dont want it is in the space between the reset point and engagment point.

    Upgrade ideas

the beavertail will allow you to get your hand up higher on the gun. Bringing you up closer to the bore axis will make the gun easier to control. I also find it helps in getting a good firing grip from the holster. an extended thumb safety (as opposed to that little nub you have now) will...

    Upgrade ideas

I would say a beavertail grip safety and new sights are first. Then an extened thumb safety. Even a bad 1911 trigger is good, if its heavy its pretty easy to lighten it a bit, but without you telling us about the trigger I'll assume its fine. does it run HP's reliably?

Lets talk about this wonderful piece of equipment. "COLT"

wow, wonder if the S&W's fair better?

Any thoughts 'bout Springfield 1911s with 3" bbl

Smaller 1911's have more trouble running, you hit this espcially when you go under 4 1/4 bbl. Its a crapshoot at 3", and at that size in 45 its not as easily shootable. STI makes some tiny 1911's in other calibers. If anyone can do it right I would think they could. At that size Id have...

Whats best for night time (low light) defense?

Night sights, whatever style you prefer, but bright and in a sudden attack in a low light situation you will not be able to draw both a flashlight and a gun, or have time to draw a light first. A light is important and shouldnt be ignored by any stretch. Get a good light (surefire if you...
