Gun Companies with poor and good customer support

Competitor. Brings the term crappy customer service to a new level Owned two of them, .44 mag and .357 mag, and the ejector lock failed on one of them. They said to send the failed part back as it has a lifetime warranty. That was back in 2009 and still to this day despite many emails and...

    Mauser Bolt Assembly

You haven't assembled it fully. You need to pull back the cocking section on the bottom of the bolt and give it another 1/4 turn. I use the edge of a step to push it against while I am pushing the bolt down.

Best way to keep shells on your person while Clay shooting?

I use a small game bag over my left shoulder so the bag itself is on my right hip, throw a couple of boxes of ammo in there, give it a shake and most of the cartridges go nose down so 9 / 10 you put you hand in an pick up the brass end ready to load.

    UK Handgun Ownership/Carry

There is no requirement to be associated with or have anything to do with the ukpsa to own a multi capacity shotgun. The use in the sport of practical shotgun is usually a more than adequate reason. I have been shooting PSG for four years and am not a member of the ukpsa, and I have a 12 shot...

Gun control questions (not election related)

Ignition override, correct, gun crime went up 30% in the first year of the UK handgun ban. Gun crime figures are apparently levelling out but there has been an increase in firearms from the eastern bloc countries, Romania / Poland, being found over the last couple of years.

Will a 357 Blow your eardrums out indoors?

Electronic ear protection is fantastic, but with quality comes cost. You can get ones from the cheaper end of the market but the return time after noise cut off is longer. Try a pair on and clap, you should not hear your hands hit together and should be able to hear ok afterwards, but with the...

    paper shotshells

Clean by hand, tumbling them may break up the propellant giving unpredictable results.

Anyone ever own a murder/suicide gun before?

I own a Taurus revolver that was left to me by my friend who shot himself with it. The police did an ok job of cleaning it, but getting the remainder out of the barrel was traumatic to say the least. I still shoot it, its a good gun, just reminds me of the good times we had. I also have a...

'Gun porn' should be on the top shelf say animal rights groups (UK)

We have a socialism government and they are under the impression that if no one has a gun then no one will need one as we will all be equal and nice to each other. Once they wake up to the fact that criminals don't pay attention to the rules we might get somewhere.

New Photo Assignment...need help with set up...

"I'm sure the same thing could be done with a digital camera and a PC, but I wouldn't have a clue how to do it." Take several shots with a digital camera and use photomatix to lay them over each other. Dead easy to use, select the photos, and click the go button and it does it all for you.

    British Olympic pistol competitor article.

My friend spent the best part of £18k over the last two years training for the Olympics handgun squad only to be told two weeks ago that they were no longer submitting a squad. Its the government and do gooders over here that want the handgun ban, it seems most other people want a way to defend...

Was the SPAS 12 a flop

I own one and love it despite its drawbacks. Yes it can be complicated, but only if you don't know how to use it. Its like all guns, use it, practise with it and get familiar with it. Apparently only 130 imported into the USA so if you get a chance to own one buy it as it may be your last...

Penn and Teller - Bullet Catching

They did this trick when they came to the UK, but due to our useless gun laws they had to use a catapult and a lima bean :banghead:

    Anyone familiar with Mossberg bolt-actions?

I had both a 12g and .410 and shot slug with Imp Cyl fine, shot slight up towards 11.00 approx 3" at 25yrds. Keep checking the choke doesn't move though. Here is a good link for everything to do with your gun. http://www.havlinsales.com/default.htm
