Are these going to be your first handguns? Definitely get a Ruger MKIII, it's a fun gun to learn the basics on. The LC9 while probably a great carry gun will be difficult to learn to shoot. Take a look at a P95 or SR9c.

I had a Sig and those magazines were $35-45 a pop. I have since switched to Glocks at $20 a magazine even cheaper for the Korean Mags.

Life member is something I'd like to do down the road. For me my membership paid for itself by just going to the Convention. I actually have to renew soon

I'd go for a Gen 3. While Glock has seemed to fix some of the issues with the Gen4 9mms, the Gen4 have a spotty record. The double spring system doesn't seem like a needed "improvement" for Glocks. I also am not a fan of the grip or stippling. I like the Gen3 and I'll most likely on purchase...

Go used and just ask alot of questions. Ask about any mods that may been done. Check the trigger a few times and make sure it feel good and consistent. Compare it against a new model.

Security Six, GP100 or S&W will do you well. The GP101 is a great gun but you might as well get the 4" barrel
