    wall hanger help please

If an original Kentucky(actually Pennsylvania) long rifle isn't in the cards, how about a Trapdoor Springfield. Some are still pretty reasonable. Another option is to go WAY back and pickup a Brown Bess musket from IMA. Just feeding the fire a bit!!!

Colt Cobra finally got to the range ...

I looked at this new Colt about a week ago and it handled nice, but heard some guys in the shop talking about that this new Colt was actually just a brand-labeled product and was actually being made by someone else. Any truth to that or was that just another "rumor ? It does seem like Kimbers...

What to do with a bag of foam

Good idea. I assume that you checked it out to make sure your guns lubes/oils/greases didn't react to the compounds used to make the foam? Otherwise, over time, you might have a problem. Been there/done that!

    Cabela's: Good or bad?

Yup, Expecting anything else from Cabelas (or any other retailers) is folly. I don't have a problem with Cabelas and have sold them a number of firearms over the years. One thing you can count on is that they will offer you "something". Been to many local gunshops where all they do is turn up...

    Used Ruger Mk III Target

As far as inherent accuracy goes, the barrel length won't make any difference as Ruger Mk's tend to be very accurate out of the box. Ammo will make a difference, and CCI standard velocity would be a good one to try first. With open sights, a longer barrel might be easier for some to hold a...

    Used Ruger Mk III Target

I'd go along with this suggestion. A new, stock bull-barreled Mk III 22/45 should go for around $350 and the new Mk IV around $425. The "blinged-out" Pac barrel doesn't add much to the deal, unless the look really does it for you.

    Bullseye Battery Recommendations

I shot Bullseye for many years until the hand/eye coordination finally gave out. Our club is still very active, shooting outdoors in the summer and then retiring to 10m. air-pistol, indoors over the winter months. Today the guns of choice seemed to be either S&W 41's, Marvel 22conversions...

    Trap load powder

The word "light" and "1 1/8oz." loads never seemed right to me; especially for 16yd trap. Mostly I shoot 7/8oz loads or for Sporting Clay, 1oz. at most. Powders I've had great success with are 700X and ExtraLite. In particular I've found ExtraLite to shoot extremely clean at light load levels.

Most Accurate Air Pistol Under $500

I know you said NEW, accurate air pistol, but look around for an FWB 65. Spring powered, recoil dampened operation that won't take an "accuracy" backseat to almost anything out there for twice the price.

    S&W 638, 637, or 642?

Of those mentioned, I'd prefer the 642, primarily because I don't have much use for a hammer on these snubby's. A 638 would be my second choice, but does have more frame holes to allow pocket fuzz to collect in. Bear in mind though that I find I use all my Smith's DA, Even my 686's and 629.

Pellet Sampler Packs: An easy (and fun) way to improve the accuracy of your Airgun.

I didn't realize that H&N offered a sampler of field target pellets. IME, I think that sampler has the most value since they offer different head sizes. In the past, I'd used a couple of the Straight-shooters samplers and, while they include a lot of different shapes, they aren't specific...

    Easy shooting introduction guns

Auto - Ruger Mk (take your pick) or Buckmark Revolver - S&W 63 or 617, or Ruger Single 6 I'd stay away from the CF look-alikes. As you mentioned, they tend to be very ammo picky and can be unreliable.

    Would You Make this Trade?

Sounds like a decent trade to me; go for it. Be aware though that the tritium front sight on the M60Pro is so small as to be pretty much useless. Still makes a great trainer to your Airweight when you plan on extended range sessions, and a not to shabby small IWB/OWB belt carry.

Standard Distance for Pistol Accuracy Test

I'm not aware of 1 over-all standard distance for handguns, it all depends on what the intended use of a particular firearms is. For some, it could be 5-7-10yds(defensive use), or as much as 200yds.(HP silhouette). For competitive bullseye the standard is 25 and 50yds. IME, trying to...

    Smith 60 vs sp101

I will probably wear-out before any of my 642/640/60's do. Nothing wrong with an SP101, but if you like your "smiths', I'd stay with them and worry about something else.
