I am 60 and I will carry as long as I can pull the trigger and hit what I aim at. Right now, that's often. I think older people are preyed on and need protection more than the younger guys.
I had two Rotator cuff's repaired in 06 and 08 and I learned to shoot 1 handed. Now I have Rheumatoid Arthritus in my shoulders and wrists. Until I get it under control for which I may not, I can only shoot 22"s. It's a real bummer!!
I am 60 and have some arthritus problems so I stopped carrying a semi auto and went to a J or K frame with speed loaders. I just don't want any problems with racking the slide. I shoot a revolver very well and feel its my best defense (357 Mag).
The lowest for me is a 32 cal but I do have a no lock Beretta 950 in 22 short and a NAA Mini Pug in 22 mag for which I do carry for walking/exercise. It's my dog guns.
Agree 100%!!!! We should not budge one bit. If it were not for all those "marksmen" during WW2. the Japeneese would have invaded the mainland. We need to learn from history.
You guys just about threw out most guns in one way or another. I agree on 25 ACP or Jennings or Highpoint, but sometimes that is all people can afford. I have over 30 handguns and 40 rifles and shotguns. There is not one I would call junk!!
When I first bought mine, I shot 100 rounds at a full size man target and they were on the head and torso. It is an accurate gun for 10 to 15 yards. You need a lot of trigger time and pratice.
It's not bear, deer or big game hunting but it's a blast. There are still dog towns in Western Kansas and it's great fun. Try it, you will like it. Use a 223. or a 22-250 or 25-06. Larger guns are an overkill.
