What's the PRIMARY REASON why the Anti-2A Camp so often seems to be more successful at its mission t

None of the answers are correct. (No offense) The correct answer is that the Anti-2A crowd wants to control others through their fear of themselves and their lack of control in other things. The Pro-2A crowd wants to be left alone, and stays out of other people's business.

folks with hearing aids: do you wear them to bed?

I wear hearing aids. I do not wear them to bed. The feedback into your ear from the pillow would be horrible. I have a dog for the alerting. I have seen some cool tech WRT vibration mode devices touching the bed to wake you as an alarm clock does. No reason this couldn't be used as an intrusion...

    Anyone ever win a gun?

I won a Garand in a Navy rifle match once. They just handed it to me. I was very surprised by the nonchalance of the affair. "You shot really well dude. Here's your new rifle".

Smith & Wesson M&P no longer in US Army pistol trials

"I think you'd find the Italian factory has a lot fewer 'professionals' than you'd expect; I've heard that a huge part of their workforce are classified as 'interns' as a workaround to labor & pay/benefits rules (you have to 'earn' your way into real employment, in other words; maybe even...

You actually had to use your gun

It took six months to get my gun back from the Washington police. They took my carry piece (used in the shoot) and a backup I kept in the truck, which was towed away from the scene (the truck had a bullet in it and was evidence). I got my vehicle back in three days, and my insurance covered the...

Smith & Wesson M&P no longer in US Army pistol trials

I understand the piece about foreign companies, but these folks employ thousands of tax paying US citizens. I can't complain about that. I have been to the Beretta factory in Italy and the one in Accokeek, MD and both are staffed by pros, but the US one doesn't have 400 Italians taking a nap...

Smith & Wesson M&P no longer in US Army pistol trials

The Berettas are made in Maryland and the Sigs are made in NH

More than a few AR .223 mags: primary motive?

I like to shoot my rifles first, then when the mags are empty, switch to handguns and when those mags/speedloaders are empty, pack up/clean up and go home. Then clean the guns and put them away. The next day, while listening to music, watching a movie, whatever, I load all the mags and put them...

More than a few AR .223 mags: primary motive?

I never, EVER bring boxes of ammo to the range. I sit in front of the TV, load mags/speedloaders/strippers and shoot the next day. I HATE thumbing rounds into mags wasting valuable range time. If I have a few dozen of each type of mag or speedloader, I never have to do that.

    S&W 6906 or Stoeger Cougar 8000

I can't say enough nice things about the 69xx pistols. I have two, one with the standard slide and one with a long (4") slide from a 5903. They are incredible.

    Unicorn Parts

FBI Palmswell grips for S&W 1076. I have one set on a 4566, and have been looking for another set for 10 years. S&W "military" magazines for the model 39. Never seen one for less than $200.

Soldiers carrying civilian weapons as secondary armament.

I have only seen a very few non-issued weapons while deployed. I saw a Beretta 85 in an arms room and grabbed it up and stuffed it in an ammo can with a few mags for it and some .380. Kept it around, but it did not return to the US. I saw a US soldier with a S$W J-frame carried in a paper Dixie...

For every Colt we have in the armory where I work, there are 12 FNs.

Ghost Ring vs XS Big Dot sights

No problem with cheek weld. I have an XS big dot front and a Wilson combat ghost ring rear on my 870 18", and it's really very easy to shoot well.
