It's just another way around primitive firearms seasons. i don't know about the legality either, here in New York, the rules state it must be loaded from the muzzle. That leaves a lot open to interpretation.

If tumbling them removes the sprue, it also has to reduce the diameter. So your balls are what size? are the weights consistent?

The reason I load sprue up is for consistency, If you can't see the sprue, you don't know what direction it's facing.

Try a filler over the powder, it will keep it at the primer.

Went to the show at Crystal River Mall, Fl. today, on a good note, lot's of ammo for sale. Prices seem to be stabilizing on ammo. S/D ammo averaging $1.00 round. for .45, .380,.38. Last month at the show in Tampa at the fairgrounds ammo was running in excess of $2.00 for S/D. On a bad note...

I have never had the safety come off on any of my S/A pistols, That's what a good holster is for. When I first bought my Colt Mustang, I carried it in a Desantis nemisis pocket holster with an empty chamber for 2 weeks just to be sure, Never had the safety come off ever.

I carry a Colt Defender .45 cocked and locked. When I can't hide that, I carry a Colt Mustang .380 cocked and locked. Been doing it for years. Both are in Cross breed IWB holsters. I don't give it a second thought.

I just had a mechanical lock installed on my safe, My door has exterior hinges, so I took off the door, brought it to a locksmith and had the electric lock replaced with an S&G dial lock. Cost was $200.00 total. If I had him do it at my house, it would have been another $50.00 for a service...

I use about 6 grains of 4f from a spring loaded primer, and bank it away from the touch hole.

You can use a piece of paper to see if you have a burr, push the paper to the sharpened edge, if there is a burr, the paper will stop, if no burr the paper will slide past the edge. If no burr, you're not done. If you don't raise a burr you will never get it really sharp.

Lucky gunner has an in depth article on S/D ammo. The .45 critical duty did not perform well. Win. ranger did good, so did Gold dots. I carry either Win. Ranger T 230 gr. or Speer Gold dot short barrel. My pistol is a Colt Defender.

Black powder pistols don't require a 4473, maybe that's the answer. They are off the radar.
