Yeah it's a shame that he would actually carve anything into a beautiful piece like that, and yeah it's to deep to sand out, I've already tried that, so it's on to plan B....replace the stock.

I have a 336Malin in the 35 Rem cal. The stock has a heart carved in it so I would like to replace it. I've found one for sale on EBay, but it's for a 30/30 cal, it looks the same as the 35 cal but the seller doesn't know if it will fit. Hope someone can confirmed whether it will or...

Thanks Coyote...I went to the link you posted and have emailed them with my question, there isn't a phone number to call and talk to them. Also yes they both have the pistol grip, I think that it will fit regardless of the cal...just wanted to make sure before I bought it. Thanks again!!

Looking for an answer....have a 336rc in 35rem. I would like to replace the stock and forearm, found one on eBay but it's for a 30-30rem. Are the stocks and forearms the same in both calibers?? Tks
