I picked up a no-name single shot 12 at a sale this fall for 60, right after somebody payed 170 for a single shot 20 of no-name. Couldn't believe my eyes.

Been using my Clipper since MArch as an everyday use Jack knife, haven't needed to sharpen it yet, the one thing I found that hurt it was live wires when we were cutting seats out of a car.

there have been ALOT of very good compounds released in the last 5-8 years that would fit your budget very well. I might suggest looking into the forum at www.archerytalk.com there is alot of very good information on that sight, especially as far as getting started, and a good classifieds section.

best advice I can give you on finding a bow and starting shooting is go to a good pro shop and shoot alot of bows, only you will know what feels right for you.

I hear alot of good things about them over on another forum I'm on, biggest thing seems to be don't shoot groups and make sure your rest is timed right or it will catch.

if its smooth its not rifled. I had one that like winchesters cheap rifled slugs, but the accuracy drops alot after 75 yds. If I was you I would keep an eye out for a used rifled barrel, JMO
