    Recommend a decent manual?

My go-to manuals are Hornady, Lyman and Speer. I buy each new edition of these manuals, and they have a common trait; the newer manuals have watered-down loads for each powder relative to the older manuals. Many of my pet loads from older manuals show as overloads in the newer manuals.

Why i HATE conceiled carry and what can i do to fix it?

Hey guy do like me. I love my FN Browning Hi-Power full size, and my Sig Sauer 228, but when I'm in my jeans and shirt I go for a pocket pistol. Get proficient with a Kahr, either 9mm para or 380. I mean really proficient, practicing weekly. And you will be a confident and completely...

    Typical Saturday at "The Range"

Our range is on the back side of our property. If I'm alone, maybe working up a new load, I take only one firearm. If there are several participants, I take multiple firearms, normally up to five. If I have to clean more than five guns, it becomes a chore. I am blessed to have my own range.

How Much Ammo is Too Much

Tell you right now, I have gathered up primers, bullets, brass, powder to last me for ten years of my normal shooting level. I believe that most of us don't realize the danger to the second amendment that we face.

Green Tip and the Overton Window

So what do we get from this "Overton Window"? And who guided you to this "Overton Window" idea? I went to the website you sent, and the "Overton Window" idea is a non starter in today;s politics. Who told you that this is reality? Give me a name.

Green Tip and the Overton Window

Overton Window? Please explain that to me. You folks on this forum are not more sophisticated than me on the stuff. What is an Overton Window, and where did you get that name?

FYI - Buffalo Police to Confiscate Guns...

Your choice: hide grandpa's guns from the cops by taking them out of state, or be a wimp New Yorker and turn them in to the cops. States such as New York are interested in having a docile unarmed citizenry. Do you want to be in that category? Get the eff out of that state.

What is the most cherished gun in you collection

It has to be my L C Smith 16 gauge double. I learned to shoot while hunting quail and doves with my dad, uncles, and grandpa. I inherited the L C Smith from my uncle Mason.

    Chrony F-2 / M-2 Chronograph (yellow)

My chrony always gives me a believable number. That 3749 number seems pretty high, but maybe it is true. My question is .222 with that high muzzle velocity??

Holiday in the States, which ranges to visit?

Furious Pilgrim, I find it great that you want to come to the US for vacation cum gun range shooting. I lived in the UK for eight years, had my license, hunted pheasant, partridge, rabbits, hares, pigeons, all the niederwild, but my Brit hunting friends always told me how lucky I was to have...

    Feeling Helpless In NY

I fully understand the drawbacks of not having a firearm. However, don't let the lack of a sidearm keep you from visiting places. In Georgia we can carry in most places. However--I am retired military, so in order to avoid a trip to the armory to relinquish my weapon while on base, I don't...

.44 Magnum guys, help me decide

My Ruger Redhawk has been my hunting revolver for 30 years. The trigger is excellent. I shoot single action (first shot) hunting whitetail. Second shots if required are simple with DA due to the Ruger cam double action system. The original grips are not adequate for control, but Pachmayr...

Are you a pilot? Planes and Guns
