    It's Wheelgun Wednesday

Dangit, missed the day by one haha… Regardless, a pair that spent some time at the range recently: 1947-vintage K22 and 1970-era 27-2 with 5” barrel. Always a good time, and now it’s time to clean ‘em up and start over! :)

    A Sunday Scabbard

That is an excellent holster and I appreciate the history of the design, to boot!

    Grips

I’d add a vote for the BK Grips or Tyler grip adapters, as well, with the caveat being that my experience with them so far has been with K- and N-frame sized guns. The only reason I haven’t gone that route on this 642 is that this Hogue unit shown here works so well for me for both shooting...

    It's Wheelgun Wednesday

Happy Wheelgun Wednesday, all! This S&W 642, JW O’Rourke pocket holster, and Barranti 2x2x2 pouch are with me a huge chunk of time each day, often all-day. Sometimes the 642 is a solo; other times it’s a back-up to something bigger on the belt.

    New S&W Heavy Duty

@shoebox1.1 why am I am already imagining you with not just one but a BRACE of these guns in matching Barranti holsters or, perhaps better, a double shoulder-rig?!

    New S&W Heavy Duty

I’d be adding a grip adapter, myself. I don’t care for Magna-style stocks solo, but when they are paired with an adapter (I used one from BK Grips on my 520 and use a Tyler today on a “pre-27”) it’s about near perfection for me.

    New S&W Heavy Duty

Not long ago, I owned one of the “almost” New York State Police issue Model 520s, a gun that always gave me a strong 38-44 HD vibe. The main thing I disliked about the otherwise very nice 520s was the smaller ramp front sight. This new S&W offering seems to eliminate that complaint of mine...

    New S&W Heavy Duty

My apologies if this has been asked-and-answered previously, but I saw something new-to-me while browsing the aisles at the local gun show recently: what appears to be a new rendition of the S&W H-D chambered in .357 Magnum. Link to the mothership website listing below. The gun I saw...

.22lr revolver - how challenging to keep clean?

I rarely let my centerfire revolvers go without a cleaning between range sessions, but I’ll let my K-22 go a few sessions (maybe 500-600 rounds total) between scrubbings.

    I think word is out...

Back when I started buying guns in the earliest 1990s, my “big four,” so to speak, were the S&W Models 19, 66, 586, and 686, all in four-inch trim. That’s all I cared about and all I could typically afford and, at least locally for me, I could pretty much count on being able to find a great...

Field holster for 5" 629 Classic

My personal experience sitting with a 5” OWB holster and revolver - I am able to do so, realistically and comfortably. Not that it matters, but I’m not unusually tall at just a shade under 6 feet in height. In and out of cars, office chairs, living room seating - just not an issue. Same...

    Who needs 357 Dainty?

    Love some Georgia Arms ammo!
