    Pick Your Battle Rifle Poll

I'll put myself down on the AK list, preferably 7.62x39. Mainly because if there was a SHTF situation I'd like something that wasn't too picky about a cleaning schedule.

    saiga?

Ya know... I didn't have any problem with the trigger guard. I only used one screw to put it on. Just shoved the one end under the mag release, put the screw through the hole on the other end and pushed it until it lined up with the hole on the bottom of the rifle and let the nut do the rest...

Anyone heard of Puma Firearms - interesting products....

I'm pretty fascinated by their firearms. I don't have any experience with them personally, but I wouldn't mind gettin' my hands on one. My favorite gun reviewer on youtube reviewed their Model 92 Bounty Hunter recently. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HR3RFTiIIAs

    Reminder to wear safety glasses...

Glad you're ok man. Thanks for the reminder. Sometimes I take mine off, I shouldn't. I'll think about your story next time.

    Which is better-looking to you?

Oh yeah, definitely the stag/fluted situation for sure. My wife did comment that the pearl handle was very pretty though.

    357 Magnum vs 45 ACP

haha! But with the .357 how are you going to know if someone is breaking into your house at night during your next home invasion?

    Saiga Pro-mag Mags.

+1 on the bullet guide, it's well worth it. Stay away from the promags, install the guide and get some steel surpmags or some Circle 10 Polywaffles from K-Var, and like SSN Vet said, you'll be happy ya did.

    saiga?

Ah, well my scary evil killing machine does. I sorta like having it. They really weld up the hole? That seems a little bit silly to me considering it's not really the most tightly crafted weapon in the first place. I knew most left it out but I thought it was out of sheer laziness. If...

    saiga?

wcoats - the best way IMHO to modify your Saiga to take standard mags is to purchase a bullet guide and install it. This will take a bit of drilling and tapping for the screw, but as long as you take your time and are careful you should be just fine. Then shave a bit off or your magazine catch...

    Saiga-12.... tell me about them

Saiga-12's are a fantastic weapons, very reliable and a lot of fun. I can't imagine a better weapon for home defense either. If you want to use anything larger than a 5 round magazine you are gonna have to change out parts so that you have the proper amount of US compliant parts, just like...

    Saiga 12 project

Looks good Girodin, nice job! I'm going to be restoring my Dad's Saiga-12 for him soon and this is almost exactly what I had in mind. The quad rail is a nice touch especially with the VFG and light, it shows the usefulness of it. Ignore the haters, for some reason every time someone puts a...

Concealed carriers can be the worst people.

I've spent a bit of time in a bar or two in my day and I've learned one important thing... The guy walking out of the bar tends to have a bit more booze in him and be a little more irrational, and the guy walking into the bar needs to let him just go on home and sleep it off before drawing...

What's on your list of "gotta have at least one"?

Springfield XD40 SC Browning Buck Mark .22 Match grade w/ stainless barrel .357 or .44 Magnum (haven't decided on the make yet, but that's a ways off anyhow) Browning Hi Power Bersa Thunder .380 (I think the Mrs. Pants would like this one) In that order. Of course when it comes to guns, I'm...

    Fixing a bum AK mag

+1 on the Kvar Polymer Waffle Mags, they cost a little more, but I've never had a problem with any of mine.
