weird Michigan pistol registration story....does this make sense

WBM If I remember right after around 40 years I asked him how I could legally transport my pistol. Legally I think I could open carry it back then. Not being able to even take it out of the house with out a CPL was totally wrong. Now days I can legally carry it cancelled on my own property.

weird Michigan pistol registration story....does this make sense

Years ago I had a Michigan concealed carry permit when it was easy to get. Simply got to the Sheriffs Dept., do a little paper work and walk out with your permit. I forgot to renew mine one time. I called the local State Police. The officer that answered the phone told me I could not even...

Which long gun for fireplace décor?

If I was to hang a gun over a fireplace it would be the Damascus triggerless double barrel that belonged to my grand father. it has a very weird butt stock. It has no cheek piece. The stock drops away the comes back to fit your shoulder. Surprisingly with out the cheek piece it comes with your...

I found this guy climbing my walls

I worked and managed the biggest Fur sale in Michigan for years. When prices were high a guy sold 200 xl and xxl coon for $50.00. My son that was helping me bag the fur coming off the table was trying to figure out how much that was. I told him $10,000 and to get these bagged as the guy had 150...

    Eat the Beaver

Beaver meet is the highest protein meat there is. I have served up to 10 lbs of loin at Trappers Conventions over the years. The main dish at both of my sons graduation parties was beaver stew. At one of them the principles wife said it could not be beaver. I had to take her to show her the...

    Got Sinew?

Chip Thanks for the information on the use of sinew. How you get it and use it was interesting. I have always thought of using the sinew off of the whitetails I shoot. I generally take it off of the back straps before I bone them off of the deer. I never realized that that was sinew on the back...

    Cougar in Suburbia?

A friend called me one afternoon that she had seen cougar tracks on a two track in a wild life management area. I went and took pictures of the tracks. When I showed the pictures to the cougar specialist of the Mi. DNR he tried to make dew drops from the tree above the tracks into toe nail marks...

    Your first buck

I got invited to hunt with her family by a woman I worked with when I turned 14 in 1957. I continued to hunt with them for years. It was not until 1961 that I saw my first buck. I had been siting against an ole pine stump for a long time. As it got light a car stopped and dropped a hunter off 40...

    Ted Nugent?

I quit watching any thing Nugent when I watched him shoot a nice tom one day and go back to the same blind the next day and do the same thing. I can almost guarantee that he shot them both over bait. Why would turkeys come in running to a spot two days in a row and start pecking the ground if it...

Unusual need to be armed the antis won’t like

I was siting at the vets with my year old lab laying at my feet when a young couple came in with about an 8 week old pit pup. It started growling and snarling at my lab. They thought it was funny. It was all I could do to keep from going over and slapping the owners along side of the head. I...

Turkey season is in the horizon!

I will have to see if I can locate the beads as they are stored since I moved to a different house. Then it will be if this computer illiterate old guy can figure out how to post a picture.

Turkey season is in the horizon!

I have been chasing turkeys for around 30 years. At first it was like winning the lottery to draw a tag. After not drawing for around 5 years back in the late 80's I drove 4 hours to pick up a left over tag in the UP. I was able to get access to a huge farm through a friend I new up there. I...
