    Ruger LCR opinions

First of all, I agree that the LCR recoil is overstated very often. With that being said, mine is a .357 with the standard Hogue rubber grip, and I certainly wouldn't want to do much plinking with full house .357s. About ten rounds of .357 is all I can manage before the web of my hand starts to...

    Brother protects Sister Houston Tx

A 15 year old was at home with his 12 year old sister when two home invaders attempted to break in. 15 year old got his father's "assault rifle" and fired, hitting one of the men multiple times. They fled and were found at a nearby hospital. It sounds like their neighbors had also been...

Please tell us about your favorite gun shop

I don't post on THR much, but I lurk here quite often. My favorite LGS is: On Target Shooting Sports 590 Vance Rd. Suite 109 Valley Park MO, 63088 (636)861-1055 May not be the cheapest place around, but certainly not the highest either. Usually have a decent selection to pick through...

Scantily Clad women and gun advertisements. acceptable or not?

I have seen several of these ads as well. I find it incredibly immodest and indecent, and, while I MAY still purchase something from that manufacturer, ads with women dressed immodestly make me think less of that manufacturer's advertising department.

    St. Louis Gun Shops

I have been shopping at Ruby's several times, but never purchased anything substantial. They have a decent selection, probably around 50 handguns on average, and a fair number of long guns. Prices on ammo are not bad, but the gun prices are pretty high. Pacific Gun and Archery in Pacific...

18 y/o here. Glad I live in a state that allows private purchases of handguns at my age!

    Anyone have a Ruger LCR?

I have the .357 model with the Hogue grip. It's quite accurate as long as you can do your job, the recoil even with .357s is fairly mild, and the trigger pull, as has been outlined, is almost a dream. I say go for it!

    do you name your guns?

Yep, I shamelessly name my guns: S&W Model 19: Teresa Ruger Mini-14: Charlotte Ruger Mark III: Elizabeth Heritage Rough Rider: Annie

How often do you go to the range?

I used to shoot weekly, but being in college in another state changed all that. If I got to shoot three to four times per year, except for the summers, it will be a lot.

    Torn

Pretty much echoing what others have said, if SHE likes a .380 for self defense, well, it's certainly going to be better than nothing. It's still certainly a capable round, especially with good ammunition.

    Which .357 Revolver to buy...

I think for your purpose, the down-to-earth reliability of the S&W might be a better choice. It sounds like you follow my typical approach when purchasing something, which is to go with the tried and true. Since trail guns are typically used in isolated areas for protection, I'd want to have...

My most hated gun is in my house

I must say that given your emotional state, sell it. I wish I could say it will get easier, but it won't. Losing someone like that is never easy, no matter what way you look at it. The only thing you can do is ease the pain a little. Sell that 10/22 to someone, and who knows, maybe its terrible...

What round can stop a car?

Unless you take out the driver, not much is going to stop a car immediately, short of high explosives or extremely large AP rounds. Going through an engine block isn't that difficult, but a hole in a block isn't going to stop the engine, and, even if it does, it won't do this immediately.

    Ugliest Revolver

Gotta go with the Chiappa Rhino on this one. Even though the idea is a great one functionally, it's just plain ugly.
