40 cal win sxt vs: ranger talon

Very nice tests. I ask this question because I've seen instances where the SXT ammo failed to expand reliably if at all, yet I've heard nothing but praise for the Ranger-T, which led me to wonder how different are they???

40 cal win sxt vs: ranger talon

Old post, I know, but I'm having this very same question in 9mm form. The link to the Sig forum isn't working, but I'd definately like a solid answer as to what the differences between the SXT and Ranger-T ammo is. Also, which has better consistency in performance??

    Prvi Partizan

Great ammo, I buy 8mm Mauser and 7.5 French from them, and a great prices too. In fact, I have both 198gr and 200gr 8mm from them, so I always recommend their ammo.

    If it was from 1897, than it's not a m91/30, just a m91.

Your opinion on a standard service caliber for NATO.

Oh, I'm well aware of this. But it still doesn't really make sense, as the point of fighting is to kill the other guy before he kills you. And insurgents have no qualms about using HPs if they can get them.

Your opinion on a standard service caliber for NATO.

I've worked for many years with every small-arm caliber the Navy uses, and I see no need to switch out from the 9mm. The Armed Forces uses a +P load for the 124gr round, and this packs quite a bit of punch, even with the need to use FMJ bullets it has over 400 ft.-lbs. of energy at the muzzle...

    Favorite for frequent plinking?

A few squirts of Windex down the barrel and boltface, and the corrosive nitrates left by the primer are taken care of in my Mosin Nagant. A quick flush with hot soapy water works just as well. After either of these two things, just clean the weapon like normal, its that simple. Do not let...

My first rifle - any suggestions?

SMLEs are gems, hoping to add one to my collection soon. However, you cannot go wrong with a Mosin Nagant M91/30. Most are extemely cheap, surplus ammo is cheap AND fun, the weapon is extremely easy to fieldstrip and maintain, and recoil is not nearly what some folks build it up to be. I'd...

    Yugo M48 Date

The joys of cosmoline. My M48BO is also brownish in stock color instead of one of the lighter shades, it all depends on how long its been stored for and if someone prettied up the stock beforehand. Still a beautiful weapon!

Stainless Steel Barrel and Corrosive Ammo

So whatever the case, a few sprits of Windex followed by normal bore cleaning should do the job just fine.

Stainless Steel Barrel and Corrosive Ammo

The nitrates left by the primer are water-soluble, but ammonia also dilutes these remaining particles just as well, and its easier to bring a bottle of Windex to where I shoot then lugging a tub of boiling water around. The copper deposits...well, I'm still trying to see what will clear them...

Looking for a new 9mm carry load.

http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/index.php/cName/9mm-hollow-point-ammo The prices on this site are very competitive, and they list both Gold Dots and Ranger-Ts. http://www.prestostore.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?ref=hotpig27&pd=249882

Looking for a new 9mm carry load.

Speer Gold Dot JHP or Winchester Ranger-T 147gr. JHP are what I recommend to everyone, especially the Ranger-T, they have consistently good expansion and are my primary defensive round. Also, you shoudl be able to get a box of 50 rounds from $23-$30, depending on where you go. Gold Dots come...
