You own the SRH, get the Alaskan. It is the same gun only short barrel. Feels the same and can shoot the same ammo heavy weight if you want. I have the SRH and the Alaskan and they make a great team.
I have both the Super Redhawk 7.5 in and the Alaskan love shooting them both. I also use the Alaskan for CCCW. I have done the wolf spring change on both and the triggers are almost as good as my two S&W 686 plus
I've Got the SHR 7.5 inch and the Alaskan both 44mag and love them changed the spring with a Wolf spring kit made the triggers much better, they weren't bad to start with. Bought the 7.5 inch new and the Alaskan barely used.
Having been an EMT and later a ER nurse I have seen multiple GSWs both on the living and the dead. Rarely do you have an exit wound to the torso, not to say it doesn't happen. The worse damage wounds you see are from close range buckshot.
Due to the great powder shortage earlier this year I started using the Dots. Red Dot, Green Dot and Blue Dot for my loading powder. I have had very good luck out of the Green Dot for my light 44 mag loads. Alliant says the rate Shotgun powders but also handgun powders. I find them now and they...
That is the Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake with the optional IWB straps. I love mine have two, one for my 686 3 inch and one for my Ruger Alaskan 44 mag. This holster can also be carried OWB Anne cross draw.

When the great shortage hit I was not prepared and ran low on bullseye but I came across some Red Dot, Green Dot and Blue for the low power magnums and the Dots seem to be cleaner burning. Red Dot loads almost identical to Bullseye. Green Dot loads are just about 1 grain less than Unique loads...
I agree with your ideas. I've only been loading for about three years but I have come to the same conclusions. I only use the 357 and 44 mag brass makes it easier to clean the guns.
