Springfield XDm in .40 caliber and purchase a Storm Lake 357 Sig barrel for it. You're just changing out the barrel as your existing magazines work the same with either cartridge. Worked great for me.
ChasMack,
I suppose it depends a great deal upon just what you are shooting. Back when I was into muzzleloading rifles the rate of twist on my hawken barrels dictated whether or not round balls or conicals were best suited. With a slow round ball twist and tightly patched round balls my 54...
Get a scale. Nothing fancy just something for you to verify what charge weights of a particular powder you can reliably toss thru your powder dispenser. I love the auto disc but you have to live within its capabilities. As a bushing type dispenser it will throw consistent charges with ball...
Working around skeet ranges in the 1970's I pretty well saw all the o/u's available in the day. The Browning Superposed and Citori's both held up as did the Winchester japanese 101's and Xpert 96's. The Charles Daly's were nice and popular but possessed enertia cocking of the second shot (as...
"My rounds feed just fine when i do plunk test. Also feed when i rack the slide by hand. Problem is that when i shoot, the slide does not return fully. Stops about 1/8 inch short. Have tried various oals and crimps. Doesn't matter. Gun is px4 sub."
Perhaps a stiffer return spring?
Right now my loads for .380 ACP are 3.4gn Hodgdon Universal and Montana Gold 95gr JHP. I also loaded the same bullet over 3.2gn Win 231 but prefer the Universal loading.
They usually shoot just fine. The alloy, fit, and velocity will determine whether or not you need the gas check. Back when I cast my own bullets I quit fiddling with the gas checks when I found they made no difference.

Imp. Cylinder because the center of a pattern pretty well stays the same. Larger shot will tend to stay centered longer too so you increase your effective pattern distance by going up in shot size. You do lose more pattern density with a more open choke but the shot string pretty well stays...
Hodgdon Universal was reported to be a low flash powder in 40 S&W. Much depends upon how much of the powder is consumed in the barrel which will vary upon barrel length, projectile weight, and loading. I know my Titegroup loads had more flash than my Universal load did.
