Yes, thank you. I think this is the third part. In the original posts, it was just this story and the author linked back to the first two parts that he had posted.
Actually, it’s three posts.
A while back a member posted a story he wrote about a changing world and weapons hidden under a rock in three instalments. I saved a link to those posts but lost the link when my computer died. Does someone by chance have a link to those posts?
If you are going to shoot it, make sure you have the correct ammunition. You said that it’s a 22, but with the age and purpose, it may be only a 22 short instead of long rifle.
I didn’t notice anyone else mention it so I will.
If you do decide to go for it, check the frame closely in the area under the barrel. The model 12s are known for cracked frames. I have 3 -2s that are fine and a -3 that has the cracked frame.
Right now they may just trying to keep a low profile to avoid stirring up support for the court packing push. But I agree with post 5 that they should provide an explanation as to why they pass on accepting a case.
That California bill [AB229 would prohibit private security from carrying firearms] could be interesting depending on what is in it. Just think of all the celebrities that would end up with unarmed security.
My first gun was a JC Higgins bolt action 22LR that my parents bought me about 1954. Although I still have it, it doesn’t work to good since the tube magazine got crushed decades ago to make it a single shot.
My first handgun gun was a shiny new Colt Frontier Scout Buntline Special in 22...
I have thousands of rounds (reloads) that I have in plastic 50 and 100 round ammo boxes. I just store them in a lockable wood cabinet in my spare bedroom.
I reload, but at the range I scrape up any and all brass that others leaf behind. I end up with a number of calibers that I don’t use so I take those with when I go to a gun show and trade them of for commercial reloads and/or brass in the calibers that I do use.
Here in Arizona it is actually illegal for any type of firearm registry to be maintained by the state or any lower jurisdiction.
A number of years ago, the city of Kingman was maintaining a list of firearms brought into the local court house. Weapons are prohibited in the court house and it...
I bought a nice snub nose model 19-2 at a gun show a few years ago. It looked like it was carried by a motorcycle officer who carried it for 10 years without ever taking it out of the holster. After a good cleaning, it was like new. But I’m not complaining since I got it for the “dirty” price.
I came across an article on this monstrosity a number of years ago. I can’t find the article but I keep the photo for when I need a chuckle. I think it was an attempt at a high capisity revolver.
I lived most of my life in California until I retired 18 years ago and escaped to Arizona. Friends and relatives keep asking when I’m going to come visit and (regardless of the unconstitutional gun restrictions) I keep telling them that I can’t because I don’t have a passport to get back into...
I only have one that has a nickname. A S&W model 19-3 that I bought a number of years ago. It had been refinished in what looks more black than blue with the hammer and trigger chromed and it came with a black holster. I refer to it as my Batman special.
