Looking for a FFL In Central Tx

Based on your post history, I surmise that you are in the Austin area. Contact The Old Cannon Armory in Pflugerville. Veteran-owned business and the gentleman is a great guy to deal with. I have no affiliation with them other than they are the only FFL I use.

    25-35 win

I wish you luck in finding a rifle. The Winchester 94 Trails End is very cool. My father-in-law has a old Win. 94 in that caliber, and it is a neat rifle in a great vintage cartridge. Has about the same power out to about 100 yards as .223, and is such a classic.

How do you like your Bell and Carlson stock?

For those of you that have one with the camo finishes applied, how does it hold up? The stock I have now started as camo, but it's only about 80% camo now as it has rubbed off.

How do you like your Bell and Carlson stock?

I'm going to finally replace the cheapo Core Lite stock on my sporter Mauser (bought it sporterized). I'm looking at the B&C Medalist Mauser 98 Varmint style. I like the idea of the Al mounting block and not having to bed it. To those of you who have or have used the B&C Medalist stock, how...

    Redfield Scopes

Full lifetime warranty according to their website for scopes. Limited for spotting scopes and binos. 1 year on rangefinders. http://www.redfield.com/support/ These look like a really nice entry-level product. I really want to try out one of their spotting scopes.

    New S&W for 2010

I would think that moving the cylinder release to the top would make using speed loaders easier as well as dumping empty cases. I always seem to get one hung up on the release. It does look really weird though.

After Market Stocks for Stevens 200??

Look at savage aftermarket stocks for your short action length. You will need to know if you have older style staggered feed or the center feed. Here are a couple threads off of sights to help you out. http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=360818...

Anyone handled a USSG Z98 Target?

Mr Pale Horse: Thanks for the information. I've been able to find out a little more about them with the action name. Have you handled one before? What was your impression?

Help with new to my scope.

If I can remember from when I had my Sweet 17, when sighting in set the parallax dial to 100 yards, then sight it in at 100 yards. Afterward use the hex key to loosen the elevation dial and set to '100', then re-tighten. Make sure to use the elevation dial for the correct grain ammunition you...

Anyone handled a USSG Z98 Target?

Apparently a new importer, USSG, has started bringing in Zastava 98 Mausers. They list on their website a target version in my favorite good-for-nothing, terrible BC, better off with a 6.5mm or 7mm chambering, .270 Win. I think I might really like one of these. I have two hunting rifles in...

Browning BLR Lever Rifle - Questions, Poll and Photos

HenryD, you brought up an excellent point. For those wanting levers in calibers that match their bolt rifles, these are great. My Mauser is the same caliber as my BLR, and they even shoot the same type of ammo equally well.

Browning BLR Lever Rifle - Questions, Poll and Photos

The traditional ones are usually thought of as Marlins and Winchesters. Low-pressure blunt-nosed cartridges are the norm for them. Savage 99, Sako Finnwolf and Win 88 are considered modern along with the BLR. I assume the Ruger 96-44 and Marlin Levermatics would also be considered modern...

Browning BLR Lever Rifle - Questions, Poll and Photos

I've got a straight-stocked one in 270. It is a hell of a rifle. The trigger is not what I would call good, but with some practice and patience you can shoot them accurately. Mine has a Williams rear sight, a Lyman front sight and a Leupold scope. I love it. It makes me wonder why I keep...

    Lever Gun Triggers

I had the Wild West Trigger in the 336 I used to have. Broke very cleanly and wasn't hard to install.

    Mossberg 464

I think it's a nice little rifle. For the price you get Winchester styling with some of the Marlin strength and modern features. While it isn't going to be as nice as a pre 64 Win or a Marlin 336c or xlr, it doesn't cost what they cost either. I'm not sure if it is as good or better than a...
