Latest Emails from the NRA Change in Tone

This is exactly why I quit the NRA, Doc7.

Does Tulammo not go by SAAMI specs?

I didn't say it was bad, or good, for that matter. I detailed my experience with it. It is just my experience, and the decision I made. I leave it up to the reader to make his own judgment on the ammo. I would only use it again if it was literally the last ammo left on the earth, and not a...

Does Tulammo not go by SAAMI specs?

Had an SKS rendered inoperational due to Wolf ammo--same ammo that used to be imported under a different name. The primer pierced and the gas had enough force to bend the firing pin and wedged it tight. It was scorched and blackened when I hammered it apart. Never used steel case ammo since.

    S&W 686 grips

They sure look like Altamont Grips, but I'm not finding them. Good luck!

How do you prefer to carry extra revolver ammo, a speed strip or a speed loader?

This sounds sounds positively old fashioned, but I will carry my reload in a Galco 2x2x2. So, neither of the above.

Non +P .38spl defense cartridge recommendations?

I suggest hand loading: Power Pistol powder with 158 Rim Rock LSWCHP. At standard pressure, about 5.2 grains, it chronos above 900 fps out of my 4" S&W 15. At +P pressure, 5.4 to 5.7 or so, it easily tops 950 fps.

You won't see this reported in the MSM

Correlation does not equal causation. I am a proponent of concealed carry, but this does not prove much of anything.

The argument over lethality and wounding continues

I picked Other, because I go with the predominant police calibers in my area; 5.56mm and .40 S&W, even though I am not police.

What would you like to see in a new revolver design?

A new fangled ultimate carry revolver. It would be a 6 shooter with a 3" barrel for a full length ejector rod and chambered in .38 +P, with a concealed hammer like a S&W centennial or LCR. I'd like to see it made along the lines of the LCR with titanium and polymer components for durability and...

    Lightest Reliable Load Glock 22

Whoa! I would recommend backing away from the Bullseye. Way too fast of a burn rate for .40 IMO; that's how Glocks KB--fast burning powder reloads. Power Pistol is my favorite in .40, and is an Alliant Powder. More moderate powder; less pressure spikey.

    GP100 back from Ruger...

Oh man, this sounds so awfully familiar. I feel for ya, SullyVols. I went through a very similar yo-yo GP100 that they eventually just refunded. They sure don't make em like they used to! Good luck!

    I Lost 20 Pounds Woohoo!!

Even at my lightest, I couldn't stand IWB. Good on ya for losing weight, but IWB was never for me. OWB is so much more comfortable for me.

Colorado Gun Control - Standard Capacity Magazines, Private Sales proposed bans

Here's a map that weights the counties by population instead of geographical area. (Since people vote and land doesn't.) http://www-personal.umich.edu/~mejn/election/2012/countycartrb1024.png Changes the picture a bit.

    Whats your EDC knife?

Nice pictures^^ I edc a Swiss Army knife. Untactical, but very practical for opening beer bottles, cutting off hangnails, opening boxes, pickin teeth, tweezin, etc. I think mine is called Officer. When I feel like it, I carry an Emerson knife with the wave. I love those things. I have a couple.

The NRA is a well-funded Extremist Group

I'm going to go against the grain on this one. Comparing net worth of an individual to one year of net income for a business or organization is totally apples and oranges. For one, the individual amassed it over time. Two, net income is after expenses for those businesses/organizations, so it...
