    Sig P226 .40S&W

The easy way to test pistols/calibers is to put your favorite pistol in your non-dominant hand and what ever test pistol/caliber in the dominant hand. Begin firing down range, alternating shots between hands. Empty both pistols, reload, swap hands, re-shoot the test. It's quite enlightening. I...

    Press mounting (on Bench)

If you mount a sheet of masonite with screws only, to the top of whatever you put over of the MDF, you have a replaceable benchtop surface. If your using two sheets of 3/4" ply, glue sandwitching the MFD between the 2 ply sheets would probably make it stronger. Lots of good advice in this...

    Favored Synthetic Gun Oil?

Eezox is my favorite synthetic gun oil. I've used most of the major brands and nothing else comes close, including motor oil.

After removing the stock, soaking it in a solution of TSP overnight will loosen the paint and won't harm the rubber. Another possibility is to high pressure wash it at the car wash. If it were a small spot I would try lacquer thinner which dissolves about anything paint but won't hurt the...

duct tape on wood: removing residue

I use lighter fluid (Zippo) which is actually Naptha to remove stickers and glue. Doesn't seem to harm most surfaces including most plastics and removes most glue without leaving any residue. Nice tip too, Guru1911.

    What is "Forcing Cone Lengthened"

Here's a nice article on forcing cone lengthing. The reason that an 1897 might need this done is to accomodate modern shells. Originally the forcing cone was cut short for paper hulls which needed to seal closer than plastic shells do. Pattern adjustment is a more modern approach too. The...
