Budget Shotgun Recommendations for Dove, 2018 Version

My dove gun is a weatherby pa08 with the wood stock. I love it. I'd recommend it! I've also only heard great things about the sa08, but don't have much experience with it. Mines a 20 gauge. I love the finish on it and it's been very reliable. However, my cheap Mossberg Maverick and 870 express...

What’s the most reliable gun in any situation

I feel like pump action shotguns are pretty reliable. Most don't see a lot of maintenance and have very few problems. My dad has a pump that probably hasn't been cleaned in 10+ years but hasn't jammed recently either. However, there are a lot of reliable guns, and any gun can fail. I would pick...

Shooting 22 shorts out of LR cylinder

I'm assuming it would be fine, but does anyone have experience doing this? I have a Chiappa 22 revolver with the LR cylinder and a Magnum one. Can I shoot shorts out of the long rifle cylinder? As long as I keep it clean? Thanks for the help.

One gun you regret selling and...

Can't bring myself to sell any gun. I don't know why. I've never sold a gun, I just keep buying them. Only gun I regret buying is a hi point c9. It works great! But I really have no need for it, as I have other handguns, so it sits a lot. Almost traded it for a RIA 38 special one time, but the...

Shotgun for 11-12 year old, rabbit +

I have a weatherby pa-08 in 20 gauge. It's the pump version of the sa-08. Good gun! I started out bird hunting on a 12 gauge when I was 11, but that's because my dad only had 12 gauges, and I wanted to hunt/shoot so bad. I shot it multiple times before I was 11. It was all I knew. When I was 13...

    Rough Riders?

I planned on buying one, because I couldn't ever find a single six that for a good price that wasn't junk. When I went to pick it up, the shop had a sale on Chiappa 22's for just under $100, so I bought one of those instead. Very similar gun. I've had no problems with it, and I've been impressed...

Sub $500 Spotting scope recommendations ?

I'm a big fan of Vortex, and their warranty. Hard to beat IMO. I'd try to look through a diamondback if i were in your shoes.

Finally broke down today and purchased some .22 LR.

A local store had a sale going on yesterday. Bricks of 500 for $30. That's .06 a round. Not bad. It's getting easier and easier to find in my area. I haven't shot much of it recently, and I'm starting to miss it!

Prescription glasses for shooting, sports, & everday wear?

I've loved my flexon frames. They did cost a bit more up front, but I'm convinced that I've saved money in the long run. I used to break a lot of frames, but I've had no problems with mine for years. I recommend them to everyone.

    Spotting Scope Lens Size Comparison

I think that there is a big difference as well. I would go with the larger one. Unless you're packing in miles and miles to hunt, where every ounce and inch counts, you won't regret it. I love my 80mm and I backpack hunt with it. Worth it IMO.

    Hi Point .40 caliber carbine.

I bought one a few months ago in 9 at Als just north of you in Logan for about the same price. It's been awesome! It's a blast to shoot. I'd recommend buying a few more mags for it. Reloading every 10 shots isn't fun.

Has anyone shot any of this new super low cost shotgun ammo?

For fun I bought another box (the only other box I bought was about 2 years ago) and cut open a shell. Looks better than the last one. Maybe I'll shoot some paper with it and see how it looks. I think for all around shells they won't be too bad. Most people don't know how their guns pattern...

Has anyone shot any of this new super low cost shotgun ammo?

I've tried it and wasn't too impressed. Other shells patterned better for me. I never had any problems with it though. I also cut open a shell and found lots of odd shaped BBs. I've been wanting to try their cheap buck shot.

    Most regretted gun purchase?

A Hi Point C9. I shot the gun a good amount, and have never had a problem with it but I never shoot it. I always just shoot my other handguns. Should've put the money towards a different gun.
