    New Lyman -ohaus m5 scale

Have you adjusted the left foot as far as it will go and the scale is still not zeroed? The knurled holder for the supplemental weight, at the left end of the scale base, is the adjustment knob. If the scale came with its original pan, then it shouldn't be necessary to adjust the lead shot...

    HS-6 for 32 H&R mag

Frankly, all of my 32 loads, both Long and H&R, burn cleaner the hotter they are. Pretty much regardless of powder.

    HS-6 for 32 H&R mag

HS-6 has the same burn rate as Accurate #5, which is my most used powder for 32 H&R. (I shoot 100g bullets, from 700 to 1100+ fps.) I'd bet it'll do just fine.

Thumbs Up for MO. Bullet Co.

I'm having great results with their 32 caliber bullets, both 100g RN and 98g DEWC. The coated versions are as clean to handle as plated or jacketed, and are leaving only traces of lead in the barrel and on the cylinder face.

Do I want to start reloading?

FWIW, I started with a Lee Turret press 25-30 years ago, a gift from a grateful client. When my handgun competition needs outran the (comfortable) production rate of the turret, I got a Loadmaster. I frequently used the turret press as a single stage with pre-adjusted dies, and frequently use...

    Otoscope (Worth The Price Tag)

The older my eyes get the more I use the little two-AA otoscope I picked up years ago from an unknown source. It's mostly used to get a real close look at the location of the case mouth to the crimp groove/cannelure when adjusting a seating die, and at the shape of the crimp when adjusting the...

Brand new Glock 43 trouble with reloads

I have a Lee Factory Crimp Die as the last step in the reloading process for most of my handgun rounds. In addition to separating bullet seating from crimping, it includes a sizing ring so each finished round gets a final sizing before going in the ammo box.

Digital scale in the $50 range?

To adapt a rule from the computer world to reloading scales: Cheap, Digital, Quality - pick any two. That said . . . +1 for a beam scale. We all have access to laboratory grade gravity, and with a little care an RCBS or Dillon or Lyman (all made by Ohaus, as were a few other brands) will...

    Shooting Chrony F1

I used a Chrony Gamma Master (remote display and printer) for many years, but was frequently frustrated by failures to record a shot when the sun was in the wrong place. If I absolutely had to get readings on a particular range trip I took to setting up a photo umbrella on a stand next to the...

Why is first round so slow? (.38 Spl in Lever Action)

You can check the powder-position issue pretty easily if you have access to some Trail Boss. You can basically fill your 38 Special cases with Trail Boss - to the base of the bullet but not enough to compress the load. You'll get fairly low velocities, and will not get anywhere near the...

    Backwood options?

I sure do like my S&W Model 65 - 3" barrel, round butt, 6 shots. If that's too big I have a 2 1/8" S&W 649 in 357 Mag. It's all steel and is not the lightest thing out there, but it still has become my daily carry gun. I regularly drop 8" steel plates with it at 25 yards, usually single...

Holster advice please! Ruger LCR or S&W airweight

I mostly carry a G26 in a CompTac MTAC IWB. I find it supremely comfortable, especially in the summer when the back of the holster is against my skin. But even the G26 does get a bit heavy. When I carry a S&W 442 it's in a Side Guard Tuck Clip - a tuckable IWB model that is stiff enough to...

    Power Pistol in a 9mm

I used to use Power Pistol in 9mm - 5.4g with 124g FMJ bullets. (I don't use lead bullets in my 9s.) It did NOT fill the case, and gave me about 1050fps, which was fast enough for IDPA matches. It is a VERY exciting powder to use at a night shoot.

    BK Grip Adapters for S&W J, K, L and N Frames

    BK Grip Adapters for S&W J, K, L and N Frames

I have added a grip adapter for S&W K frames to the BK lineup. It turns out that it fits well on K, L and N frames, both square and round butt. So I now have adapters available for all but the X frames (which I have never handled, but assume are not likely candidates for service grips with...
