I generally bring a 3" SP101 in .357 magnum. I bought it for hiking.

I had a KelTec .380 that I traded off for a bunch or reloading equipment. I didn't carry it often and to me it had a lot more recoil than my Glock 19. I miss my .380 and plan to buy an LCP next month. I do prefer 9mm and the larger, higher capacity 9mm but still see a place for the pocket...

I particularly like the SP101 in the 3" barrel. Yes, it's heavy, but that's good because I like to shoot .357 out of it. I think it's not useless at all, it's a great carry gun when I'm not in town.

I also like the single stage. I painstakingly weigh out every charge of powder, and take my sweet time at every stage. It's more fun than it probably sounds. No, I don't make tons of ammo quickly, but I make good, reliable, safe ammo. I make mostly 9mm. I don't save much money, but saving...

I'd just keep the receipt and not worry too much about it. If you buy at a LGS you frequent, they may be able to help you out with any history they may have, like who they got it from I'm the first place.

If you like revolvers and like .357, but don't like a 2" barrel, maybe you'd like a 3" Ruger SP101. I have one, and the stock grips are easy to conceal and pretty good in the recoil dept. you might check it out, I carry one a lot of the time and really like it.

Five shot 3" revolvers are sweet guns. I've always wanted one of those Lady Smiths and wouldn't worry about what it says on the side. Good score.

It's especially annoying at times like this, but nothing new. Non-gun people don't learn about guns the way we do, same with any hobby. Even my wife doesn't know the terminology and differences between things like an AR and an AK, and she hears a lie of gun talk. Unless you're interested it...

I spent a little time carrying a 3" SP101. I use a Simply Rugged Silver Dollar Pancake, and the weight hasn't been an issue for me. I also thread my belt through holster-beltloop-holster and wore it about 3 o'clock. Nice gun, fun to shoot, but just not for me I'm afriad. Maybe it'll grow on me.

I had the opportunity to fire a BAR, HK MP5, and a Sten Gun one afternoon in Ohio. Great day.

I carry speedloaders of I am wearing a jacket, and always a Tuff Strip in my pocket. I keep one in the left breast pocket of my jacket, and sometimes in heavy flannel shirts.

I like a G19 for summer. Summer is often when people are at their craziest, and I'd rather have a lot of 9mm than a few .380 or .38. .357 is nice in the woods year round.

I just don't see where Glocks are so ugly. They just look like a gun to me. I guess I'm I'm the clear minority, but they feel fine and point naturally for me. I have other guns and want others still, but for a carry gun I think for me the Glocks are "just right".

Those are my two main carries. If I knew there was gonna be trouble I'd rather have my G19. I shoot it better and faster than my SP101 and it holds three time the ammo. The G19 is my personal favorite pistol. I'm thinking of buying either a G26 or a second G19.
