My brother in law died last month. He left me a Ruger Service Six in .38 special. Which is special to me as I was with him when he bought it. The second revolver, a smith & wesson 65-5, I purchased from my sister for $2000. She was in desperate need of money as the government had frozen the USAF retirement survivor benefits for two months. I had offered to give her money but she refused. I can only imagine where she got her stubbornness from. Any way Ruger and S&W are like Dave and Me two brothers from different mothers. Nice guns man.

Sorry for your and your sister's loss. Good of you to help her out.

It was not a typo just a way to help her keep her pride in getting help from her baby brother.

Sorry for your loss and kudos for your benevolent generosity in helping out your sister in times of financial hardship. Two great revolvers to have together.

Despite the reason for it, that's an awesome story, dsc. It's nice to be in a position to help people out like that, even if they are stubborn about it. That's how it's supposed to be.

Money is just money, but those two heirlooms are special to you.

Decency; it is what separates us from the animals.

A very well done to you, sir.

Cool. I hope you shoot them every year and have great memories.

If they have kids that grow up to appreciate guns, I hope they can migrate back to them some day.

Indeed, my sentiments exactly... thanks for another concrete example that gun collectors are the nicest and most polite element in our society. Kudos :)

When my wife passed away we had insurance money coming in when ever it got there. We had debts that were here NOW. My sister who never is reckless with her money pulled out her check book, dropped it on the table and said, "I have $30,000 dollars in this account." Well I wound up only needing about 4 grand. She said, "Don't worry about paying it back." Guess what was one of the first checks I sent off when the insurance came through. I surely do appreciate your post for bringing that warm memory back to me. You are a fine example of what siblings can be.
