I was setting up a new tablet pc and was looking for a program I had used in the past for tracking costs and data for reloading. I came across this "Reloading assistant" app which has a cost calculator as well as a section full of load data. There seems to be a lot of data but I'm not sure where it came from. Does anybody have experience with this? Is it user input data, trustworthy data...? It is easy enough to use and if trustworthy it will be a great tool.

When I reopened it it threw a warning...basically said don't sue us if you do something dumb and get hurt...but then it referenced it's sources. Alliant, Hogdon, etc. Looks like they just pool all of their data. Nice app.

How simple it is to use. Just click the bubble for rifle, handgun, or shotgun, then click the caliber selector and select from the drop down menu.

This is a great tool. I'm glad I found it. More calibers listed than any hardcopy load book, and then it combines from at least 5 reputable online sources.

Looks like there is not a version for IOS (Apple) or anything similar. So if I understand correctly, there is a bunch of load data already populated in the app. I assume you can store your own information as well?

Any chance they list those sources? Just wondering if they pull the data from the manufactures websites directly or if there are other reputable sources out there for us to learn about.

I can't figure out how to go back to the warning screen, but it did list where it pulls, and yes it is manufacturer websites.

And for personal data it does look like you can load your own. I haven't tried yet

Thanks Rule3! I'll download that and start looking through some of my favorite loads as a quick double-check. ;)

It won't replace the manuals on my bench, but will be fun to look through when talking with the guys at the range.

I have just installed it. Good for calculating reloading costs. Thanks for the info.

I used it at a quick reference guide. It's especially handy when your at a store where you cannot get cell service and you need to find out of a certain powder can be used with certain cartridges, and you can't access the internet for whatever reason.

I have it also, I discovered when I installed it that if you like Alliant Powder your SOL.

Once they get around to putting in Alliant data it should be a decent little reference.

This from the app's description at the link that Rule3 posted:
Featuring load data from:
Accurate, Alliant, Hodgdon, Somchem, and Vihtavuori.

Is that not true?

,

No, it's not true yet. They have the powders listed for the respective loads but no data has been inserted yet.

Looks like "work in progress" though.

10-4. Sorta like "coming attractions" at the movies, just not labeled as such. Thanks.

Thanx for this thread - I had never heard of this app, but have it now. I like it!

Just installed it this morning - DOES have Alliant data in it, as well as Western/Ramshot data.

I really like the ability to clone or edit existing data for personalizing it to my needs and experience.

Oh, one more thing I just found - if you edit the load data for start and max velocity, the app automagically recalculates the bullet energy for that specific load - nice touch!
