Nice, Cooldill. I put a Hogue Monogrip on my 64 bull barrel recently. Not as pretty as the wood, but nice and comfy to shoot ... almost like a pellet gun with target loads.

Yes. I grew up and spent my first 39 years in Granite City. These days we live on my wife's family farm near Trenton. We shoot at the Belleville Shooting Range fairly frequently.
Wow! Very cool. That's where I bought my first "real" handgun. Very nice little range/store.

Don't spend too much time trying to figure out the California-legal thing. It'll make your head explode.

I only recently discovered that my state (Illinois) has some goofy "Melting Point" Law that limits sales of some alloy framed guns here.

How in the world is that gun "not legal in California" ?

California has a "safe gun roster". Guns are placed on it after paying a fee and supplying a sample for testing. Any change engineering or cosmetic requires paying another fee and supplying another sample. There is a life span after which to stay on the roster you pay a fee and supply another sample. That version may have been on the roster but is now off. Once off it cannot be imported into California. There are many wonderful aspects to living in California but our insane gun laws are not one of them. Currently only the 10-14 4" blue is on the roster.

Wow, I knew they had some stupid laws but that's worse than I'd have thought. I'm glad I'm on the other side of the Mississippi.
Maybe they will one day embrace the "common sense gun control" they're always talking about, because that's far from common sense.
