I've honestly always loved the idea of a Glock, always wanted one, USE to shoot them great before I bought one. After it taking years for me to buy one, usually because I found other guns I got a better deal on, about 4 months ago I bought a brand new G 17, with the tricijon sights installed.

Not to bash Glocks at all, infact posting this on the contrary, I shoot it horrible compared to how I handle my other handguns. I have shot it roughly 700 rounds, and no matter what I am always high and left. My groups are tight enough, about the size of a baseball at 15 yards, but 6-8 inches high and left.

I use to love to shoot my friends stock glocks. Infact early on, I would impress myself and others. They hit where I aimed. My friends G21 and I connected. Before I took shooting as seriously as I do now, I put 2 shots right through bullsye at 25 yards.

Since, I have bought mine, I do horrible and get frustrated. Infact, even during glock dedicated range trips, I have to bring other pistols, to check my poor shooting against. I am on with the others.

I have had other marksman check it, the sights are on. I have tried shooting the same glocks I used to love, and had the same problem. The problem is me.

I asked my local and favorite shop if they would take the glock for a brand new steel framed cz75. They said I could even keep the aftermarket sights, but had to give them 50 bucks. After a frustrating range trip on Monday, I asked them to order the CZ.

I am now worried, I am ditching the glock too soon? I could come up with the cash to buy the CZ outright, but would rather not. What do you non Glock haters have to say about my choice?

i always shot my one and only gen 2 high and left.until i put adjustable rear sights on it.i've read about many others that shoot the same. maybe it's that marsh-mellow trigger.:neener:

Neither are rare guns and if you feel you made a mistake, a little coin will make it right again.

My 17L shot to the left, I didn't shoot it from a rest or anything, I just moved the rear sight and now I'm dead on with it.

The CZ75 is an excellent range gun.

I agree with the others though. It is not like you are giving up a rare gem that you can't easily replace.

If you have had other persons shooting your G17 and the sights are right on, it is probably your technique. Review your technique.

I have a Gen3 G-17 and a CZ 75B, the Glock is slightly more reliable with any ammo I feed it, and the CZ is slightly more accurate with just about any ammo. Both guns hit where I'm aiming, and they're both keepers.

I've shot glocks and they were accurate but the plastic turns me off. I have a CZ 75 B in .40 S&W. Buy some wrap around grips with finger grooves. They improved my shooting and they might your also. Next will be adjustable sights for it.

I'd do the trae for $50 difference.

FYI - I don't own anything polymer framed handguns,
but have shot some Glocks and other polymer DAO handguns.
I like the S&W M&P line, I like the trigger better, & ergonomics.
I'm a 1911 advocate.

My CZ 75B in 9x19 is my only 9mm. I like the way it fits my hand,
uber reliable and accurate. as well as easy to field strip clean and re-
assemble With the 'B" you can lower the hammer manually to the Safe or
quarter cock position for DA first shot, or carry in ConditionOne
Cocked & Locked. SA pull is decent, and the reset is
easy to feel.

I haven't shot a Glock in 20 years, but when I did it was a Glock 26 followed by a G30, but I was shooting a minimum of 500 rounds a week of .45 ACP and competing with a 1911.

While I have never owned a Glock, I do have 5 1/2 CZ pistols, (the Kadet Kit is the 1/2). All of them are based on the venerable 75 including a pre-B 75, 75B, and 97B.

Yes...you are anticipating recoil and flinching.

I've had both, and now own a number of CZs. Excellent guns. I don't know how any other gun could be any more reliable than my CZ because the CZs (both of them) have never malfunctioned in any way. I'm sure they will someday, but in the meantime they're both great guns. I'm not a Glock guy though.

The Glock is lighter and that's about the only advantage it has over the CZ. The CZ75 is a much better gun you're going to love it.

I have a Glock 19 and a CZ 75 B, both great guns that I shoot well. I didn't purchase a Glock 17 because I didn't like the way it fit my hand. Not everyone shoots every gun well. If you can't shoot the Glock 17 well, then dump it and move on to the CZ. No since in trying to change your grip or technique for one gun that you don't shoot well!! ;)

I just got an almost new Glock 17 and am still trying it out. Only put about 100 rounds thru it so far. I got it in an even trade for a Beretta 92FS which I had for a few years so it was worth it. That being said if I could have traded for a CZ 75 I would have done it in a heartbeat. I own a CZ .22lr and a CZ 20ga shotgun and both are quality well made products. I have an M&P in 9mm and would probably keep that over the Glock as I am very comfortable with The M&P now. An all steel 9mm for the range is a good idea. Personally I think you made the right choice.

I have never been a big fan of the Glock 17 only because I don't like the overall shape and angle of the grip frame. It's just not a good fit for my hand and I'm not as comfortable or accurate when I'm shooting it. I do so much better with the Browning Hi-Power and CZ75; both have a more ergonomic grip design that feels and works perfectly for me.

You'll love the 75 that's for sure....Once you get some time in there with the great steel frame, you'll stray over to the P-09 and find it's a wonderful fullsized plastic example of what a poly gun can be.

My Glock went away for a xd-9, in my opinion a better gun. However it is not the same as my CZ75B. They are both excellent guns but two different animals. You won't go wrong with a CZ. Go for it.

If you're not carrying the Glock then you won't miss it IMO for the CZ75.

If you will carry the CZ, while it's a heavier gun, it's about as slim in the slide as a 1911. I carry mine when I'm not carrying my SIG P220.

Glock ergonomics definitely aren't for everyone. They either work great or not at all. To me, they don't feel right in the hand, at all, and consequently I shoot them very inconsistently. Great guns though, just not for everyone. And trading isn't a big deal since they aren't rare; they are the Toyota Camry of handguns, just about everybody has one. ;)

The CZ-75 on the other hand, like the Hi Power, fits my hands perfectly.

I say get both, and get some instruction at the range, it sounds as if you are jerking the trigger of your Glock.
