Haven't seen the Palm Pistol. If they made it in 9mm I'd buy it !

It looks similar to the Bondhus, except the Bonhus has 2 rounds, a laser sight and is chambered for .380 ACP

I would never advise use of a single shot pistol for defense. They are part of the myth that being shot means being killed instantly, which is almost never true.

Further, a single shot pistol has all the disadvantages of a 19 shot Glock (deadly weapon, CCW needed, noise, etc.) and there is no "plan B" if it doesn't stop an attacker the first time.

From the description and pictures in the link, the "Palm Pistol" is useful at distances ranging from 'contact' to 'hugging'. Considering there's no sights, and firing the thing requires movement of the whole hand, accuracy is going to be 'vague'. And it's a single shot. One try. Bad news is the villain brought a friend.

I suppose it might be better than no defense at all, but not a whole lot.

I have to agree on one thing it ain't no medical device thats for sure.

It's certainly not an ideal self-defense weapon, but it would be better than nothing. I also suspect that there are some folks who would be able to use this better than other "standard" pistols.

I have to say, though, that I'm really puzzled by this:

So, umm, you can mount a weapon light and a suppressor on it . . . Or go with the strike bezel.
