I was checking the handguns in my gun safe. Sometimes I just order guns and am not really aware of which types and brands of guns I seem to prefer. I have had about 60 guns pass through my hands in the last 5 1/2 years. Enough guns to get the attention of the ATF asked my LGS about me. He told them that although I buy a lot of guns, I trade most of them in and they know me for 5 years. It also helps that I liaison with several Federal Security Agencies and have background checks every few years.
My inventory of handguns shows that I prefer revolvers as the type of gun I buy most. I already knew that I prefer all metal guns over polymer. I grew up with metal guns and played with plastic guns as a child. Over the last 45 years I have used a lot of guns for various things. I have tried most brands of guns except for the new ones that popped up in the last few years like SCCY, DB, etc.. The brands I now own, I own due to their reliability compared to other brands in my personal experience over 4+ decades. Many guns are reliable if I just use them for range shooting a few times a year but when you put them to hard use like training courses and competition, you separate the men from the boys. I have found that saving money by buying an inexpensive gun, ends up costing me more in the long run when I sell it for a loss and replace it with another gun. How about you? What are your preferences? I know a few guys who will just list Striker fired, Glock and Polymer. I like to buy good examples of the top manufacturers.
