Bought a couple of thousand from Midway's Blemished bullet sale 5 or 6 years ago. I am having a problem identifying the make and use of these particular bullets. I believe the red tipped bullet is is a Hornady SST. The other two I have labeled as yellow but to have a slight pale green hue to them, perhaps green. Any help would be appreciated.

Red tips are USUALLY Hornady, either SST or Amax. Limey greens are zmax, which are either Amax or Vmax with a marketing spin. I believe that Nosler has also used a red tip at one time or another but i dont know when or for what application. Pics would be nice, as would caliber...

They don't make Z-Max for .308 last I knew and the color of the yellow-green ones seem a bit off for that anyway. The red one is likely either a Hornady SST or A-Max though.

Nosler describes their E-Tip Lead-Free bullets as having an "OD green tip". Those sure look OD green to me.

You might take a pair of dykes and cut one in half, just to see if they're solid or jacketed lead. That would get you a lot of info.

"...Z-Max for .308..." 123 grains. .310" only. Only currently available Z-Maxes are those and .20 and .22 cal.
When in doubt of bullet construction use 'em for target shooting only.

Perhaps the "blem" rating was because of the tips being off-colored or wrong color?
