I just started loading for my Ruger American 308; this is just my own challenge to see how accurate I can get. I loaded up a min/max spread or 5 rounds each at 1/2 gr increases for Varget with Barnes 165gr TSX BT. Started at 41 gr and went to 45 gr. The goal was to get close on a powder charge to do a finer spread. All loads were with new Winchester brass and CCI LR primers. I determined 43gr should be the center of my next series (42.5 to 43.5) with 0.2 gr jumps maybe only 1 gr min/max? Question: if I use Lake City mil brass, what would be the recommended change in powder charge to roughly duplicate the same charge in the Winchester brass?
