NRA Stickers on Car. Good Idea or Not?

I am a bit surprised it is still open but maybe it's because it has not gotten to rowdy yet.

There is not a lot of evidence (if any) to support the view that NRA stickers are somehow dangerous. It is also highly unlikely that those of us who DO have stickers will convince others to do so.

I just looked at my Life Member sticker and realized it is made to stick to the INSIDE of the glass.

Therefore, there is no way it can be scratched off. Not without busting the glass..........

I've got a small NRA sticker on the left side of the rear window of my truck. I have a "Proud Parent of a US Marine" on the right side. I haven't had any issues, but we're in semi-rural Utah. Not exactly a raging bastion of anti-gun sentiment.

I'm pretty sure that everyone that sees me assumes that I'm carrying. About half of my wardrobe is camo. Been that way for close to 15 years, long before Duck Dynasty made it cool. It's more related to fishing than hunting or anything else. I go fishing at lunch occasionally and in the clear stream that I usually fish in the summer and fall, camo definitely helps. And it's much more forgiving if you dribble some lunch down the front of your shirt. :)

I put my NRA Life Member stickers on my vehicles. I wish every member would do the same. The people of this country need to know that there's a lot of us folks out in the US. The NRA is us it's not some faceless corporate entity. It's all of us Americans and we believe in the right to bear arms!! It's time we showed the American public that we're not loony gun nuts as they have been lead to believe. We're their bosses, neighbors, supermarket clerks, you name it. But we have to show them that we're just average people.

I've had stickers on my truck for over 10 years and there's never been a problem. I live in the Seattle WA area. You can't find more liberal bleeding hearts per square foot than in this area. I gave 3 years of my life to the US Army to protect this country and it's people. I most assuredly want the public to know that I'm no danger to them unless you are trying to hurt me!

If you fear the possible negative effects of simply putting a small sticker on your car will you really stand up for freedom when things get really tough?

If you fear the people in your community may damage your vehicle due to some sticker then you are living in the WRONG place. Move - I did!

We have been quiet for far too long and our rights are slipping away.

I am a member of the NRA and have for a long time but do NOT put anything that indicates such on my car. Partially because there is the risk of someone intentionally harming it but thats very very unlikely. Someone could also hate the rescue I volunteer at or the military branch I am in...I just prefer to keep it all unadvertised.

What I find so damn hysterical is all these "the government is coming and I am going to recite the same old and tired Charlton Heston Phrases" yet they wear multicam hats with Gadsden Flags, III% t shirt and car decals, NRA, Glock etc all over their person and vehicle.put a c

If you are so afraid of the government going and removing your guns by force why the heck are you putting a big giant X on your person to be one to stop????

Also I find it annoying because just because you can hit a paper target at a range, bought "tactical pants" and put a folding stock on your SKS does not make you a patriot.

I carry concealed rather than open (where legal to do so) because it is to my advantage not to let others know that I am armed. For the same reason I do not put stickers on my car, nor even have a "vanity" license plate. Calling attention to myself or my vehicle does not do a thing for me but may do me some harm.

I actually saw a car with a Rolex sticker on the bumper. I guess the person wanted to brag that he could afford a Rolex, but I saw it as an incentive to a thief to break into his car for other possible goodies that he might have there. Years ago my daughter put a humorous sticker on the bumper of the family car, gently chiding people who promoted their personal causes through bumper stickers. It referred to honking your horn to show support for baby seals and endangered whales and abortion rights, etc. Within days the sticker was defaced and then my windshield was smashed. Ever since then I do not allow any bumper stickers or decals to be on any of my vehicles.

I wholeheartedly agree with Gunfighter. Well said!

I have two neighbors (and friends) who are LEOs. After an HOA meeting years ago, they were checking out my new car, a subaru (typically associated with granola Democrat types).
One of them pointed to the RMGO (rocky mountain gun owners) AR sticker on the back and said to his wife, "thats how you know he's still one of us!"

Its encouraging seeing signs of likeminded people out there in the world, especially in todays atmosphere of anti-rights rhetoric.

And I may just be a jerk....if you are merging in traffic, trying to get in front of me with an obama/hillary/bernie/coexist sticker on your car...you can forget it.
NRA sticker? C'mon in friend!

That's funny, because I've noticed that vehicles on the road with an NRA sticker are more polite to me in my car when they happen to see my NRA sticker. Maybe I should put an NRA sticker on all four sides of my car. :D

I like the fact that it's like 1000 to 1, if not more, people are NRA members and don't have stickers, for reasons given. Generally speaking it depends where you live. In urban liberal loony land, people will deface your sticker or damage your car, and worse, the ever present criminal element will see your car/home as a target WHEN YOU ARE AWAY. In rural USA, well all your neighbors have multiple guns and likely are NRA members. If not, get to know them and have them join.
Around here your more likely to get vandalized if you have an anti-Democrat or pro-republican stickers.

OK tuff guy. I'll send you all my stickers. A lot of gun owners live in the "wrong place". But thats where they have built their lives and are tired of people saying move. You "moved"? Good. So you ran away? How far are you going to run??? Thats standing up? LMAO

Yawn. Because there's obviously such a close relationship. Putting a sticker on your car advances NOTHING. I will guarantee most of the Pro-2A and NRA members with stickers on their cars, most average gun owners, would roll over and turn in their guns if required by law. Sticker or no sticker, they will surrender without a shot being fired. Very few will stand up for their rights, and fight for the rights of future generations, and they are secure enough that they don't need a sticker in their window.

If you fear the people in your community may damage your vehicle due to some sticker then you are living in the WRONG place. Move - I did!

So you surrendered without so much as a single shot being fired? You either did nothing to improve your community, or your efforts were so weak that they accomplished nothing?

And enough with the MOVE argument. It's simply not possible for most people to drop everything and move because you have a dirtbag neighbor or coworker who radically disagrees with you. I'm not going to move, nor quit my job, because some jerk is scared of my guns, or my politics, or any of the views or causes I support. I've ALWAYS kept a low profile, and I don't stick my perspectives in anyone's faces. But I guess in your eyes, I'm a coward. For not putting a sticker on my car. I can live with that and not lose sleep.

I don't see it that way.

Are you serious?! Even my gun-owning buddies that are die-hard Democrats would never even think of giving up their guns. Wow. I hope that what you say is not true but I guess it's possible that I am completely naive.

Maybe it has to do with where in this country a person lives. There seems to be some very decent firearms enthusiasts in CA but it boggles my mind how they continue to live there. They have already given up many guns so I guess if it happens there it can happen anywhere.

I just take it for granted that everyone in my part of the country has guns. Some places apparently need some sort of permission slip to buy. Here it's just "I'll trade you this M1 Garand for that used riding lawn mower".

I wonder what will become of all the unregistered 20mm Soluthurns and Lahtis that still exist in private hands with no paperwork attached?

I hope it's not true, but the pessimist in me says it's likely to be the case. Only recently has there been wide non-compliance and outright civil disobedience, and that gives me hope, but I do think that will also change once a few high profile cases get lost and send people to prison for a very long time. Take down a few to instill fear, the rest will roll over.

I'm certain it does. I'm also certain that most average gun owners are not the die hard "from my cold dead hands" types, and would capitulate when told to surrender "assault weapons" and "high capacity" magazines and other political/ media buzzwords that are utter nonsense.

This is true, and gun rights are being fought on the state level. In some states we win, in others we continue to lose.

Probably the same thing that happens with them now, a federal felony if discovered. I'm sure a lot of people own unregistered NFA stuff, but are too terrified to ever let them see the light of day. If the worst case scenario occurs, then they might get used.

The idea is to keep it from getting to the point where we are shooting police officers. The idea is not to get any farther than the voting box. Publicly supporting a cause, in numbers, is a good thing here.

You can always go subtle in your support. I have my own version of the prog-libs's "Coexist" on my Subie and have received only positive feedback... even from my liberal co-workers, although I don't think they looked at it too closely! :D

Do you mean this Charlton Heston phrase?
