Magazine release spring on my Ruger P90 broke. FEDEX overnight to AZ on Monday. They got it Tuesday morning. I had it back the next day, Wednesday.

Keltec - I sent a pistol back twice because it had issues. Service was great both times and no cost to me.

Marlin - Got a new rifle that had problems. They shipped it back to factory ended up replacing gun. She earned the name of Sugar because she is so sweet.

I’ve had excellent customer service from RCBS, Smith & Wesson, Lyman and MidSouth Shooters. I’ve also had good CS from Ruger, at least from the stand point of telling me how to compensate for a poor design situation on my Mini-30. Snce this is supposed to be on a positive note, I won’t go into a rant about Beretta.

The only gun-related CS experience I have had was with a Mossberg on an MVP that my son bought from a friend of mine. One of them shot it using a 30-round magazine in the gun as a rest. It broke the magazine guide and lost the front action screw and escutcheon in the process. ( on a side note, "escutcheon" is in my phone's dictionary. How cool is that? )

I called them and explained to them what had happened and that it I wanted to order replacement parts. I gave her the model (556 mvp or something like that) and the names and numbers of the parts out of the owners manual. She asked for my name, address and another phone number just in case and that they would be sending them our priority mail. I tried to give her my debit card number and she wouldn't take it. The parts showed up and there were 2 action screws and 2 escutcheon so I would have spares.

They called me back a couple of weeks later to see of everything worked ok and if the gun was shooting well. I hadn't had a chance to shoot it yet and I tried to pay them again, but they wouldn't let me.

We've since bought 2 mossbergs, both shotguns, after they experience.

I've had excellent fast repair service from Huldra and Ruger, and no cost repair parts from HiPoint.

On the firearms side: Smith and Wesson and Ruger
Reloading: Rocky Mountain Reloading and Hornady

Ruger :

About a year ago, I had to send in my SR40-C because the slide stop failed all of sudden. I called them up, they e-mailed me a shipping label and I sent it out via Fed-Ex.

3 days later I had the pistol back, test fired and repaired with a free magazine! That was awesome service!

Smith and Wesson, Ruger, and Glock.

RCBS, Dillon, and Hornady.

Bud's.

SGAmmo.

Midway USA.

I've worked with all in the last five years, and received very good customer service at each.

I have dealt with S&W and RCBS where they fixed my problem for free, even though I told them up front that it was my own fault and offered to pay for the replacement part.

I have also dealt with Lee to fix an old Challenger press. I had to pay for the parts, but they were very friendly and connected me to a tech that told me each part I needed to convert it to the Breechlock system and placed the order for me. Only cost $15 and I basically had a new press.

I also bought a Leupold Rifleman scope and emailed them with a small complaint about the scope not coming with lense covers. I didn't ask them to send me any, I just pointed out that cheap $40 Wal Mart scopes came with covers and thought that their $200+ scope should. They sent me a neoprene scope cover without me even asking.

I have no complaints for any of those 4 companies. They were all very polite and went beyond what I asked them to do.

Nearly half the posts in this thread praise RCBS. Are there really so many problems with their products that CS is needed this frequently?

Many (most) are either operator error or simple wear. RCBS has sold a lot of Rockchuckers to new reloaders, so the broken decapping pins and stripped lock rings add up over the decades.

Wilson Combat.

I bought a Wilson/Beretta 92G Brigadier Tactical from them over the phone the morning they went on sale. When I got the gun home from the FFL and wiped off the factory grease, I noticed the finish on the barrel was really, really scratched up. I mentioned it on berettaforum.net, and Bill Wilson himself chimed in and told me to send the barrel to Wilson. They put their ArmorTuff black coating on the barrel and sent it back to me free of charge, even though the barrel had come scratched from the Beretta factory and was Beretta's fault.

I have bought a lot of Wilson accessories and parts, and I'll continue to buy from them in the future due to my positive experience.

My best customer service experience was with Crimson Trace. I put a bit too much oil thr slide of a Beretta 96FS, and then firing fouled the laser with oil. I messed things up pretty bad trying to clean it. Bottom line is I ruined it. A call to Crimson Trace and their only question was "Is this on a service weapon". My answer was no. They said just send it to them, so I did. 2 weeks later either it or a new one come back with no invoice or anything. No charge. Made me a happy camper. Since then I also learned how to clean the laser without disassembly.

Ruger and Hornady.
Honorable mentions;
well, no one I have ever dealt with really comes close to them IMO.

on a side note, I find it fascinating that peoples experiences vary so greatly, and I am surprised to hear anything negative on Ruger. And my experiences with a few other highly rated companies have been less than favorable. Not what I would call bad, but not great either. Funny, no one has mentioned Colt unless I missed it, and I know why... (HK and FN too).... why do we keep buying their stuff? I hear a lot of negative about PSA, my only call to them was a positive one. Anyway I suppose CS reps have bad days to.

Here's one no one has mentioned, Powder River Precision.
I ordered a drop-in trigger for a SA XD 9mm. After trying over and over to get the trigger to fit, I realized I ordered the wrong trigger. I needed one for a subcompact.
After explaining to PRP what I had done, ( entirely my fault), the sent me a new trigger at no charge. THAT, is good CS.

I needed a new extractor and/or spring for my S&W 1006. They fixed it at no charge. Not bad for an out of production pistol.

Leupold

Absolutely outstanding with 100% satisfaction after nearly a couple dozen interactions.

Shernic Gunworks (SG)

1/1 satisfaction. 1 great interaction out of only 1 to date.

Young Manufacturing

5/5(+) satisfaction.

Mossberg

2/2 satisfaction.

Colt

4/5 so far... To be fair, I mighta been expecting too much on the 1 outa 5 times in which I was generally displeased.

Cabela's gets my kudos,,,

Cabela's gets my kudos,,,
They have been consistently great.

I got my Cabela's Visa card in 1996,,,
That was about 4 years after I started buying from their catalog.

So basically that's 24 years of dealing with them,,,
All on-line or by catalog as I've never been in a Cabela's store.

In that 24 years there have been a few mix-ups,,,
Sometimes it was their fault and sometimes it was mine.

But, there was never a problem that they didn't jump on and fix right away,,,
Even when I needed their help (with the Visa card) on a purchase from another store.

Their people have always been polite and extremely helpful,,,
They consistently give me great service on any matter.

That's why I'm bummed about their possible corporate changes,,,
If Bass Pro buys them out I wonder if I will get the same great customer service I'm used to.

Ruger-my first pistol a Ruger standard 22 that I bought second hand for $30 when I was 8 with a holster. The take down lever in the but broke at the hinge pin when taking it down for the umpteenth time, called Ruger, they sent me a call tag, paid shipping both ways, refurbished it fixed the broken part and didn't charge me a dime. Also had the same great service from RCBS and Springfield armory. Worst was Cobray, bought one of their 38 special derringers, on the 8th shot the lower barrel stopped firing, pistol has a lifetime warranty so I called them and they said they would fix it but that I would have to pay shipping both ways and no they would not sell me the parts to fix it my self. The shipping would have been more than the gun cost. Now it's a single shot paper weight with a 20 lb trigger pull that you can only hit with if the barrel is touching your target.

Taylors & Co. Best CS person I've ever spoken with. (My employment requires that I speak with CS on a regular basis, most are decent, but the bad ones....).
Haven't had any really bad experiences, Ruger CS/TS was dismissive of a question I asked them about springs for a ROA.

Ruger CS in NH on their revolvers are all super people. So is Prescott AZ.Also have had a some really good service from Glock with a FINICKY G42 (I sold it but not because it was a problem child )
