Hello everyone I'm looking for information on my semi auto group industries 9mm uzi.

I am have failure to fire issues. The primer strikes are light and off center but not coming in contact with the brass. It will fire and function as normal with gold dot and ranger lawman defense but I have not yet found any range ammo that will fire.

I've replaced the firing pin, firing pin spring and the barrel nut is tight without play in the barrel. Is there anything else I am overlooking? I have also tried 3 different magazines.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Not much of a idea to help you. I have a vector arms that fires anything I put in it.

Yes I have a vector as well, came across this group industries pre vector buy out. It's a complete group industries build. I feel that I am overlooking what the problem would be. I assume it somehow lies with the firing pin not hitting center its hitting light as well.

What is the firing pin protrusion? Not enough and you will have issues.

I've encountered two non-IMI barrels that were incorrectly machined with the locating collar too far to the rear causing the breach end to be positioned too far away from the bolt when it's closed. Some ammo would fire, some would not. Just a matter of a few thousandths so it requires a very close look and measuring to find the error. It's a long shot, but worth a look.

Is this something I could correct? Or should I get a different barrel? Should I try a different barrel first and see if I still have the same problem.

Wanted to give an update, I did some light file work to remove some of the finish on the barrel where it meets the collar. The gun runs great now put 200 round through it today. I also found that 2 of my 3 mags still cause a light strike but it is centered. One mag operates perfectly.

Yes.
Maybe.
Yes.
I see you've already done some filing. Better to have gotten some good measurements from others be fore starting, but apparently you are making progress. Remember that this is a clone and may not be an exact reproduction of an IMI Uzi. The Group Industries guns were reported to differ in a few details. On my barrels I used a lathe to remove a few thousandths from the rear face of the collar, allowing the barrel to seat deeper into the receiver. The collar was then too thin for the barrel nut to tighten securely so I soldered a shim to the front face of the collar. These were not IMI or Group barrels and my receiver was an IMI Form 1 conversion using a Group Industries bolt, so no guarantee that the same combination of factors are present in your gun. The barrels were extras picked up for cheap (now obvious why they were) just because.
