Having some trouble carrying my cz 75 bd, I mean I knew it would be more of a challenge due to the weight, but I'm having a little more trouble than initially anticipated.

The holster I acquired is kydex, and of the minimalist sort, and I find that it tends to make my belt droop on the side I carry my gun on. Which I cannot blame the belt unfortunately as it is one of the stiffer belts available (ares gear aegis belt), and can't blame my physique either at 6' 220lbs. To me it would seem it is likely due to the weight being distributed over such a small area.

So with that being said, does anyone have any suggestions for a holster that might be a solution to the problem?

A good holster with two slots really spread the weight over a one slot holster. I routinely carry a Ruger Redhawk in a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake holster. It really helps to lessen felt weight immensely.

Well is it a holster problem or a weight problem.

Being of the physical design with no butt I find I have to cinch my belt about as tight as can be. I wind up punching new holes in belts frequently to tighten up. That gets old fast.

I found Perry suspenders. There is a kind that has a hook shaped end to it that clips under your belt. Not the foolish clamps that grab some pant cloth between two jaws that shut.

Voila! Full size auto doesn't drag down your drawers.

I really wish someone made a shoulder rig using the hook that the Perry's uses.

Perry suspenders need their own sub-forum. Love mine when I wear dress slacks or a suit.

But for the OP, I second IlikeSA's thought. A holster design that spreads the weight of the gun fore and aft, rather than directly in line with the gun, is probably the solution.

You need a two point holster and some Perry suspenders.

I quit carrying my CZ because of the weight. The good belt/two point holster/Perry suspender combo worked fine, but I felt like a cop strapping on all the gear before I left the house, I got sick of doing that all the time.

Is it an IWB or OWB holster? If it's an IWB, a two point holster that's got the loops spaced fairly wide apart would be the best way to distribute the weight better. Something like a Milt Sparks VM2 or a Crossbreed hybrid would be best.

I often carry my CZ Compact or a 4" 1911 (all steel), both of which are fairly heavy. I use a paddle holster (mine are from Wild Bill's Concealment). The paddle rides on your hip, not your pants - at least not as much your pants as a slotted holster. They don't pull your pants down nearly as much. I probably have 10 paddle holsters, most from Wild Bill's. Highly recommended. Excellent quality and fit. Of course they are premium leather and not kydex.

it's an iwb, if you want to know what it looks like think "kydex summer special". Frankly this has me thinking I should just get an owb holster for it and go from there.

Over a year ago I bought a Galco KT472B King Tuck for primarily a M&P 40. The belt clips are about 7.5 inches apart, and the pistol weight is well centered between the clips.

It works great for a M&P 9, 40, CZ-75B and CZ SP-01. A Glock 26 fits well, but the weight is somewhat forward in the holster, and not held tightly.

With a quick pass of a heat gun I was able to deform it just enough so it works with a M&P45 also.

Good luck on your quest.

OWB isn't needed for a heavy gun, just need the right weight distribution. I carry an all steel 1911 in a DeSantis Intruder and have no issues with belt/pants sag. The weight is distributed across a wide section of the waist and, quite frankly, the holster is quite comfortable and I can wear it and nearly forged that I've got nearly 3 lbs. of 1911 on my strong side. My number one complaint with this holster is that it leaves a little to be desired in the retention department out of the package, but it's remedied easily enough with a little heat to more effectively conform the kydex to the gun.

A holster that spreads the weight around, such as the Milt Sparks Versa Max II or one of its many derivatives, is the solution.

OWB:
El Paso Saddlery's "Tortilla" pancake holster is good quality and totes my 1911 Cdr fine. Really any quality pancake holster will do well when paired with a good gun belt (1.5 to 1.75 in wide, double-thick).

IWB:
Milt Sparks VM2 or any of the clones made by good holster makers + good gun belt.

The common threads here are:
1. Wide-spaced loops/snaps/attachments to spread the load.
2. Good gun belt to carry the load.

I see this on forums often. The kydex is fairly slick and the holster slides down. Some folks put something that may be a little more grippy than just plain kydex on the body side of the holster. Comp-Tac even sells moleskin for the backing of their kydex IWB holster models.

One of my favorite holsters is a IWB and it conceals a 5" 1911 under a T-shirt. Comfort and concealment doesn't have to mean OWB. FWIW, the holster I have come to really appreciate is a relatively inexpensive newcomer to the market. Alien Gear out of (IIRC) Colorado. I think i paid all of 30 bucks for mine, have used it a lot over the last two years and it has a lifetime guarantee. If it went missing tomorrow, I'd buy another immediately.

Granted, I do like OWB carry. However, my work requires me to be *very* concealed and it never occurs to anyone that a fullsize service pistol and reload can be under a T-shirt.

ETA: A great holster can be wasted if not paired with an even better gunbelt. There are a lot of good quality belts available, but for the cost/quality combination, I don't think you can beat the old standby, Wilderness Instructor Belt. I own a couple of the 5-stitch models and simply gave up trying other belts. I've got one that is probably ten years old and still sees frequent use. Best $40 belt on the planet.

Your problem is with your belt, not your holster. Get a good belt and your troubles will be solved. The gun is absolutely not too heavy to conceal.

I assure you the trouble is not with the gun belt, it is in fact one of the stiffest ones I could find on the market (ares gear aegis enhanced). Even still I also tried it with my Beltman (if anything the problem was worse with that one), and my wilderness 5 stich belt which faired about the same as the ares gear. It has been determined (and confirmed to be) a problem with the holster. The belt isn't really even buckling or anything, it's just being "pulled down" on that side on account of all the weight being in one spot. The only solution I found with that holster was to cinch the belt down to the point of discomfort before it would stay where I wanted it.

I borrowed my wife's 1911 and crossbreed holster (as her 1911 weighs about the same as my cz), and put that on to see how that arrangement carried and there was no issue to speak of. So that being said I will likely go that route or similar.

It could be the wide spaced loops, but it is also helped by the leather back panel of the Crossbreed. Note the "real" Sparks Summer Special has "rough out" construction. The rough outside of the holster helps hold the gun in place.

JTQ, this is what I was thinking, I'm looking into similar hybrid holsters, and leather holsters with wider loop spacing.

A cars tire has less grip on an icy road. My pants will slide down if I'm using nice polyester hiking under shorts or Mountain Hardwear long johns. Cotton has more "traction".

My Ares Ranger belt can hold up a 1911 and two AR15 mags, so that ain't it. It has to be fairly tight though.

Try a Raven Concealment Phantom holster. Best concealment OWB holster I know of:

Try a Crossbreed Supertuck for IWB.

The Crossbreed Supertuck rules. Get horsehide though.

I use a High Noon Rock Steady gun belt and a High Noon Down Under with straps IWB for my CZ SP-01 Phantom. For OWB I use the High Noon Slide Guard for my CZ P-09. They work great, for larger sidearms.
