looking to be used as a squirrel hunting handgun with scope. shots would be about 30-40yards. squirrel in top of oak tree. headshots only.

what's your thoughts on its accuracy?

I have one. With a red dot I have prairie dogs biting the dust at 75 yards off a sandbag.

The Hunter would be a great choice.

Most people buy the Ruger and then swap out all the cheap parts for better aftermarket parts, and in the end have a pile of spare parts that's almost enough to make another gun. I didn't want to do that. Since I didn't like the plastic lowers on the 22/45 anyway, I went with a Volquartsen lower and a PacLite upper, then found a Ruger bolt and mainspring to complete the gun.

I think the gun will do its part, with good optics. Those guns are tack drivers.

I have one. You definitely won't be disappointed. I had mine threaded and I use it as a host for my Spectre II suppressor. Quiet as can be and deadly accurate.
