New wood Grips Color Mismatch - big deal or normal?

This is a piece of walnut out of our shop. Those grips are both walnut. One is just a really blonde piece and they are both finished natural. I wouldn't want mix match grips, but they are both walnut

I'm a bit late to the thread but in terms of wood color variation keep in mind that the one facing out in the package might have been exposed to a greater amount of light since they were made and that might have had a hand in their variation. ;)

Still as a customer that would not make me happy. Glad they made you a happy customer.

In general, I don't mind a slight mismatch.

The OP's shown with the excellent photos though are a bit too much even for me.

Or, another way to look at it, were I to have fitted them to a customer's pistol, I'd be embarrassed by the extreme dissimilarity.

If possible, I'd give the seller the opportunity to make it right.

Todd.

Those look nice. I'm glad it worked out for you.

I was one of the critics of the 1st pair.

IMO, the replacement set match each other as good as can be expected from natural wood.
