Does anyone have, or know from experience if the Hogue Aluminum grips for the Sig P239 are any thinner than the Sig wood grips. I picked up a SAS 2-tone DAK P239 with the fairly thick wood grips. Beautiful gun, but I was curious about the Hogue Aluminums.

If memory serves, the finger grip rubber grips feel thinner than these wood grips, but are a little sticky on the clothes. IWB is how I carry.

This is what she looks like. Unfired and about 8 yrs old.

Yes they are thinner. I have a set but I am running the rubber finger grooved grips now.

I carry IWB and haven't found the rubber grips to be an issues, although other folks claim they have.

Thanks for the input SK. I suppose the rubbers will be a cheaper option to explore than the Aluminum's. But the Al sure does look nice. I like the Alumagrips I have for my 1911's, but they don't make a P239 option.

The Houge Aluminum grips I put on my .40 239 are thinner and carry great BUT they are pretty brutal and the gun is a bit hard to hold onto when a full .40 180 grain or heavier load goes off. :(

Just to clarify, the frame is the same on the 40 vs the 9, but the slide of the 40 (357) is wider and taller???

Do I have that right? I am not 100% sure on this one.

Aluminum grips seem like a bad idea to me.

Try them after laying in the hot sun on a shooting bench on a 110 degree day.

Or fresh out of the holster on a -15 day in the winter!!

Wood, Micarta, G-10, plastic, horn, and ivory don't get too hot or cold to touch.
From shooting. Or weather conditions.

Aluminum does!!

The top finger groove of the rubber grips that came with my P239 SAS tends to cram the knuckle of my middle finger into the bottom of the trigger guard and it's not always comfortable. Briefly considered the aluminum grips, but instead going with the excellent G10's.

I went G10 checkered on my P239 and am extremely pleased.

Are the G10's thinner than the OEM wood grips? I was just looking at those on the Hogue website. I do love the G10's on my 1911's.
