I bought a Tandemkross bushing to disable the magazine disconnect from my Mark III 22/45 and I must admit it is the greatest thing.

The bushing took about 10 minutes to install(watched quite a few YouTube videos). I bought the thing off ebay for $15 shipped.

Reassembly of the Mark III is now FAR easier. I don't shoot my Mark III as much because I dreaded the whole takedown and reassembly for cleaning, no more. The mag inserts and ejects far better now. They say the trigger has improved feel, but I could not tell.

I can say that this bushing is a MUST if you own a Mark III pistol. Best $15 I ever spent on the pistol.

I installed a volquartsen sear along with the bushing and it made a noticeable difference. Some say that adding a VQ trigger helps as well.

I just drill and tap the factory trigger and put in set screws for pre and post travel instead of spending the money on a VQ.

I've never heard of the Tandemkross bushing until now. It sounds exactly like what I've been wishing for. I just bought one off ebay as well. Thanks for the info!!

Kind of humorous to look around and see so many people "converting" their new MK pistols into old MK pistols. Have to wonder if anyone at Ruger is seeing this. Or cares. Makes me very glad I bought 3 MKII pistols back when they were only $180.

I'm quite sure Ruger is seeing this.

I'm also quite sure they don't, or can't care if they want to sell the most guns they can.

The guns have to have those unwanted 'Safety Features' if they want to continue to sell them in some of the most anti-gun, and highly populated States in the United States.

It's not personal, it's just business!

The Tandemkross hammer bushing is good----the BAM busing, too----with the BAM being a better deal in terms of economics. Here is an excellent write-up relative to them off of the Ruger forum:

I'd definitely recommend that you also add the Volquartsen sear, giving additional consideration to replacing the plastic loaded chamber indicator (LCI) with a Bruce Platza solid LCI insert (great video on how to do it here):

Lastly, consider adding the Volquartsen firing pin and extractor and your Ruger will run like a champ!

I paid $14.99 for mine off ebay shipped.

I've got a Mark III 22/45 and a Target. Put the Tandemkross bushing in the 22/45 with no problem however, the Mark III Target is a different story.
Even though the internals are the same, I have a problem with the sear spring replacement. The long pin of the sear spring is supposed to rest against the back of the magazine well. My pistol has a space between the frame and the mag well. ( see picture )
I've had this pistol for several years and never had a problem with it, then again, I've never taken the sear spring out before. I e-mailed Ruger, still waiting on their reply.

That gap is normal on the metal framed Ruger 22s. The sear spring is not supposed to rest inside the mag well. The spring's long leg is designed to go inside the mainspring housing well, and rest against the frame crosspin for normal operation; sear leg management is the entire purpose for the crosspin. Tension on the sear by the hammer will impart rearward pressure on the sear spring and cause it to cam outward against the frame crosspin.

Hope this helps.

The Tandemkross folks have a video as well on installing the bushing on the Mark III with the Nambu style grip.

Tandenkross, BAM, or the Sam Lam bushing (Sam was the guy over on RFC who first started the bushing business)

I have 2 MK3's, both with VQ everything.
