Here is Mom's Demand next meeting. Covington KY is a stone's throw from Cincinnati OH. I found this on another site. Hopefully we can get pro-gun people from both sides of the river to attend.

You need more of a plan than to just crash the MDM meeting. Which room? How many can it hold? Can you get people there before the MDM folks show to attend so there's no room except for the organizer and speaker and us (and we keep quiet to leave them with nothing)? Do you plan on bringing banners to hold up in the meeting (free speech in the meeting on public property is a lot harder to suppress than if in one of their homes or businesses) once the meeting starts?

Because Bloomberg is funding this nation wide. We have one in Chicago suburbs,
ISRA notified us and many will show up early and pack meeting hall. This is where the enemy is gaining the most ground now. Smooth talking anti gun
Moms wiil get us faster than a rabid senator in DC. Stay alert locally, the NRA
can not fight thousands small battles simultaneously , that's up to us.

So you pack the hall and do what?

You just show up and stay silent you make the event look more successful.
You show up and disrupt the meeting you make gun owners look like jerks

Host your own counter-event the day before or after; the media will cover both stories out of a sense of "balance."

If you simply crash this event and hang around looking ominous in camo, ball caps and molon labe t-shirts, it will be a public relations disaster and only harm the cause.

Right, tread carefully! But it is a fantastic opportunity if you plan things well and are careful about how you present yourself. Discuss, debate, engage them politely. If someone's going to get loud and obnoxious, let it be THEM. Look professional, act like gentlemen and ladies, slaughter their plans and statements with accurate and logical rebuttals. And even better, practice the leading question that brings them to admitting their plans could have no practical benefit.

We are advised to wear street cloths with a hint of orange because that's the color designation for the group. Too enthusiastically challenge the antiguan debate and to engage the media if approached.
A number of years back DSArms was targeted by the Reverend Jessie Jackson.
They announced a protest march at their plant in the Barrington Illinois area. The plan was to drive the dealer of death from our great state. We showed up and the protest fizzled. DSArms was very appreciative and has since opened a retail gun store at the same location. It means something when you get involved and peacefully and respectfully defend your position. Or you can sit In front of your tv and swear at Obama in a news report. I choose to go down swinging. The moms organization is a very effective front for the Obama/Bloomberg shock troops that really are after our guns. Illinois has UBC already with our FOID system. They are here because they want more.

Exactly. I don't see any way crashing someone else's event makes the event crashers look good.

still, it's a great and laudable idea and effort to engage and re-educate the ignorant masses when it comes to firearms. they don't need to be given "the facts" about guns by someone who has never owned or fired a pistol or rifle, but who knows a machine gun when they see one...:uhoh:

Say you are at the NRA convention and some folks from Mom's Demand Action show up to "educate the ignorant masses". Do you think they would change your mind?

If you are looking to educate someone about guns then invite them out to the range. There is no better way to change someone's mind.

Just received from the ISRA. Never rest, they will be back.

The Bloomberg Moms have apparently cancelled the gun-control recruitment rally scheduled for Monday the 18th in Naperville. The gun-grabbers seem to have plenty of stomach for insulting us and attacking our Constitution from the end of an Internet connection; but no stomach for delivering their attacks on a face to face basis.

Please stand down your response to the gun control rally and await further instructions.

REMEMBER - GUN CONTROL IS A DISEASE AND YOU ARE THE CURE

It's not about converting hardcore anti-gun activists, some of whom are professional agitators in the first place. It's about denying the extremists uncontested airtime and publicity.

When 15 people show up for a ban-people's-guns rally, and a hundred well dressed and well presented citizens show up in peaceful opposition, their "rally" becomes a net negative for their cause.

And who knows, if gun owners comport themselves well, maybe it can also defuse some of the hate from the prohibitionist side, by forcing them to see that they are attacking their neighbors and community rather than the straw-man caricatures they are fed. But the primary purpose is to deny then the ability to create false consensus from being uncontested.

sam1911 what would those kinds of questions be? I'd like to come up with questions that do just that for future discussions.

Rem44m, that sounds like a good topic for a new thread! Why don't you start one asking just that question in the Activism Discussion forum as I think you'll get a lot more replies to a new thread than this older one.
