Good targets for .22 rifles are those nasty Necco wafers, stick 'em on a piece of cardboard with glue.

Trash piles are the best sources of targets as far as I am concerned. Signs, broken chairs / tables and big cardboard boxes are superb target stands! Also, trash doesn't need to go home with you which saves the back of your car from muddy, lead covered targets.

Myself and family shoot a lot of steel but at times shoot other reactive targets.
My youngest daughter wanted something different the other day so we filled a quart oil bottle up with red colored water.

This is what it looked like when she shot it a 250 yards with her 22-250 we just built together. 50gr Nosler BT/Varget

It starts with bullet trace speeding down range.

@ jmorris - Outstanding! :what:

I have an almost full can of starting ether with a broken spray tip that cannot be fixed. I can place it at the 100 yard target area of my range for safety, but I was wondering if I would need something behind the can like a candle to ignite it or will the bullet (.223?) be enough? Or maybe a tracer?

Has anyone ever tried this? :uhoh:
