I purchased an SR two years ago from cabelas. Found it in the used rack for $1350 + I had a 10% off coupon. Gun had some very minor blemishes and looked as it had been fired very little. The magazines were still in their packaging in the rifle case.
After getting home, I took it to the range the next day. It was around 10 degrees and very windy, but I had to try it out. I brought 2 types of ammo, hornady and an offbrand gun show special brass case. Gun was a jam o matic with both types, failing to extract the spent shells, resulting in double feeds. I tore it down on the spot, wiped the thick oil off the bolt carrier. Didn't have any gun oil in my range bag (shame on me!), so I lubed it up with what I had in my truck, Senco nail gun oil, and had a good session thereafter. Never skipped a beat after that, ever. Accuracy was very good considering the wind.
Soon after, I topped it with a Nikon m308 scope. It is my only 308 AR, and I see no reason for another. It is a pretty hefty rifle, and recoils fairly lightly for a 30 Cal. Much more pleasant to shoot than my AK.
