.40 Sig 229 LE Trade Ins

Probably the most reasonable deal for a 229 I will see & they have been calling to me for a while but I am trying to talk myself out of it.

Learn to be very selective. I have sold four guns and bought 1, therefore, I'm +3 in the "green". Another way to think about is that $400+ buys a lot of grocery bags.

I bought a LE trade in but not from Bud's. Mine is pretty much impeccable and fits my hand the best of any semiauto handgun I've tried. My only negative is that it's just a little big and heavy for most to consider for concealed carry. Glocks are a little lighter and thinner.

Sure looks like a good deal.

You can always send the P229 to SIG for their service package which includes new night sights. They normally have a father's day special this time of the year.

30% off the SSP or AEP, plus free feed ramp polish with either package.

SIG Service Package:
Replacement of commonly worn pins and springs, ultrasonic cleaning, lubrication, and installation of factory night sights
$99.95 (regularly $144.95)

Action Enhancement Package:
Hand-honing and polishing of critical surfaces to lighten and smooth DA and SA pulls
$129.95 (regularly $179.95)

Purchase either package and receive free feedramp polishing.

Bonus offer: purchase either package and receive Short Reset Trigger for $59.95 (regularly $99.95)

Shipping is an additional $55.

(866)-619-1128 or (613)-418-8102 and have serial numbers ready. Ends June 17 at 6 pm EST.

I have typically found used SIG pistols to be as good shooters as one can find in the used gun market. Every used SIG I've bought (let's just say, several) have been excellent. I've got an LE trade-in P-229, an LE trade-in P-220, and LE trade-in P-226 -- all came with serviceable night sights, the 229 already had the SRT, clean internals and the usual SIG accuracy.

And yeah, the SIG service packages are a great deal.

I've bought a lot of police trade ins and surplus from buds.......
their descriptions tend to lean overly positive more so than reality. In fairness im sure they are just cutting and pasting the importer or police trade in sellers descriptions. Also its a crap shoot. Some are gonna be far better than others even in the same rating category and batches. I like the good surprises when you get them so i tend to take the risks of buying blindly.......but for many its not worth the risks and i get why.

LEO-issued service pistols tend to show holster wear more than wear from excessive shooting, not a problem, "IMHO". This is a good deal for someone looking for a car or truck gun.

I'll echo the others saying that LE trade-in SIGs are usually a good bargain. They might not be the prettiest, but they shoot well and clean up nice. Two of the three SIGs here are ex-LE guns (my P6 and P229R DAK...wife got a new P238 a few years ago.)

I have a P229 CPO, no rail, in 40sw and its a sweet shooting gun. I paid $525 for it and it came with the 3 mags. I don't know if I would buy a LEO trade in sight unseen, but $399 isn't a bad price you can shop around and find CPO's on gun broker, armslist, etc.

Years ago I bought a 226 DAK in .40S&W as a police trade in gun for $425. Best deal on a SIG I have ever gotten. I often think about buying another one when I see these sales come up again.

Great deals on great guns. My DAK 226 below:

That is priced very similar to second hand Gen III Smith & Wesson semi-autos meaning this is excellent deal. We know SIG is more prestigious to own than S&W.

I like mine a lot, it's from an older batch but it had a bunch of upgrades short reach and short reset plus the new E2 grips.

I have a german police trade in 226 9mm on layaway, (awaiting dealer permit, europe, U know). I paid 250 € for it and got to handpick it from a stock of 20
Asking price was 370, but as a dealer I get certain discounts.

:D

It would appear they are gone & I didn't order one. I would like to have one but it is a want & not a need (already have 2 .40 caliber pistols in this size range). I am pretty sure the Sig is a nicer gun than either I have but I would want to keep it long enough to learn it before I parted with either of the others. Right now my wife is pushing me about getting another vehicle so I am trying to hold onto my cash until I get sat up with something else (my old Ford truck is up to about 389,000 miles). Sometimes it just ain't no fun to be responsible.

I do want to say thank you to everyone that has posted. Maybe I will get another chance if I watch my pennies & am patient.
